What's for dinner Sat 03 Nov?

Jump to: Newest in thread

I shall have my usual steak dinner, this time a big juicy piece of rump, plenty to spare to share with the pets.

With a creamy Stilton sauce, oven chips and onion rings and mayo for dunking, and some stir-fried vegetables.

To be washed down with a large glass of red.

What's everyone having for dinner?

Nothing creative tonight. Chicken in the oven and will rescue it shortly. Meanwhile the cider is going down nicely.

Not going to start cooking until Empire Strikes Back has finished on ITV 1 + 1.

The pets are demanding their food and would not leave me to enjoy the film in peace.

I shall feed them during the next commercial break.

Homemade fish pie

We are currently drinking champers as well

Also as I have said before, I like to make soups, so today on our shopping trips, I have bought lots of ingredients to make various soups tomorrow...

I have not made sweet potato soup before, but at our local butchers where all the produce is fresh & home grown (we grow veg but never sweet potato before), they looked nice...have searched for recipes, but can't quote see one I fancy.

So Pearl or anyone else, any recommendations?

Sweet potato and chilli soup is nice, got it off the BBC good food website ... serve it with grated cheese, swirl of creme fresh and homemade bread.

I don't like it hot either, so only use a little chilli to give it a warm glow, nothing too hot, then smokey paprika and lee & perrins
