Fave or unfavourite instrument

That dreaded statement coming home from school where they want to learn to play the recorder. I'm sure teachers take out revenge on parents by issuing these things as retribution for sending your kids in. |

Favourite has always been the saxophone, it just sounds amazing.
Least favourite is the recorder, it’s just awful.
Guess which instrument my school music teacher said I’d have to learn first if I wanted to end up playing the sax |

Totally agree on the sax. Vampires by The Midnight has one of the best sax solos I've ever heard. A gloriously sexy tune. |

I don't like the saxophone. Sounds like a comedy sound effect. Overused in the eighties and used as a lazy shorthand in films to denote "sexiness". It doesn't though!
Love a 12 string guitar, nylon guitar and steel pedal guitar. Also a big fan of early synths, unbelievable what Jarre did in the seventies.

To play - Favourite is guitar, least favourite is piano/keyboard, but I quite like playing xylophone.
Can't think of a favourite or least favourite instrument to listen to.. |

"Not a big fan of the organ.
I love the sound of a Hammond or wersi"
Just been performing on a Hammond RT3 tonight! Bloody lovely instrument and so versatile! Sounds like a top church organ until you put on the vibrato then it goes full Wurlitzer! Can do rock, pop, classical, jazz… you name it! And it wasn’t even invented by a musician! |

Really? Try this: https://youtu.be/MoA7vgEgxHg
Okay, no? Try something a little different then:

Yeah, okay, that’s like piano music arranged for a balletic maniac on the organ!
So, check this out - an improvisation at the end of a service at Notre-Dame before the fire! And no, it’s not just splashing any old note! All the harmonies are very cleverly crafted! Enjoy!

Now I can play the cello!
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I can play any song and I mean any song on the recorder!
The Dr Who instrument - gives me the hee bee jeebiea! "
Yep, I think you told me before you were a cellist like me! I assume by the Dr. Who instrument you mean the extraordinary Theramin, the only instrument I kniw of which is played but never touched! |
