Just listening to some old love songs …. brings back memories of the nightclub’s closing at 2am and having that dance on the dance floor on The Old Kent Road to Boyz 2 Men.

Ahh sweet snogging memories

The song Save the last dance for me was written for his wife because on their wedding day he had a broken leg, therefore couldn't dance with his now wife, but didn't want her to miss out.

We don't even talk anymore

And we don't even know what we argue about

Don't even say I love you no more

Cause saying how we feel is no longer allowed

Some people work things out

And some just don't know how to changeeee

Let's not wait till the water runs dry

The last chance dance is unique time and space where the beer gods reward the boys and girls who praise them all night and don't want to go home alone. I remember times where I've been wondering like a lost sheep come last dance and locked eyes with a woman I've not seen, noticed or talked to all night. Danced with them, taken them to dinner at the kebab shop, taxi and bed with them. Then of course that walk home at 9am on a freezing January morning in just a shirt, jeans and the smell of them on the end of your nose. Or rudely 6.30am once because she failed to inform me she lived with her boyfriend who was working nights.
