Is it just me or did anyone else take up this well paid( I say that jokingly ) October holiday pastime in the 70s and 80s. Thrown in the back of a trailer with about 60 other like minded kids to pick spuds for about 10 hours? |

I did it for a while but quit as it wasn't very apeeling. (sic) |

No but used to pick strawberries, raspberries and gooseberries. Used to think we earned a small fortune, then realised if we stopped eating more than we picked we'd have earnt more! £5 was a hell if a lot of money to a 8/9/10/11 year old in the 80s!! But then I grew old enough to babysit....that's where the money is lol |
