Apparently not or the pics wouldn't be allowed.
If I'm sending a face pic, I'll take it in good lighting etc to try and minimise lines & wrinkles! But filters are just silly. |

Unless you’re receiving a direct live picture, then people are going to use the technology to improve the look of a picture.
Even using angles could potentially be argued as misleading!
Take pictures as an impression and wait until meeting in person before deciding whether the attraction is actually genuine.
It doesn’t make people fake though, it’s on the viewer to assess and decide. Filters are pretty damn obvious most of the time |

Unless you're altering composition, all you're doing by enhancing light, contrast, shadows, tone etc is digitally developing the image. No different to "lightrooms" back in the day. It's enhancing, not manipulating. Something all photographers have done since the beginning of photography.

Ok you go me well done 11 April 2022 video is fake
Sort off
More like a lot off effort and editing went in to it
Done the video in the shower
Then download a video off a contry lane in the rain off YouTube
Wipe the background off the shower out and stuff
Then overlayed the video off the shower over the top off the YouTube videos
They was some ruff bits as I only used my phone and wasn’t useing a 10-20k editing rig
So turned the video black and white to hide it
All in all for doing it all on my phone a made a good job off it
In fact something along those lines would have cost 50-60k for a team

I admit I'm a fan of colour changing on my pictures as it gives you a different perspective... Sometimes black and white in a certain pose is better than colour.. Definitely not into fluffy ears though. |

I don’t class changing the lighting as a filter .The cat ears etc are obvious filters .When we meet people and their nothing like their pictures that’s the kind of filters I don’t see the point of . |

On previous profiles I posted all my pics exactly as I took them and I hated them.
All I could think of was if they looked that bad to me they must look worse to others.
They didn't make me feel good about myself.
When I created this profile I decided to put more effort into them.
I only ever adjust the lighting and use b/w filters and nothing else.
I've never spent more than 5-10 mins on any pic but others seem to like them and they are good for my self esteem. |

I like to change a basic picture in an attempt to make it a bit more ‘arty’.
Colours, depth, lighting yes. I want to appreciate the picture I’m putting on display.
Enhanced sparkling filters or to change my waist size, nose width, rabbit ears and teeth. Never. (My own ears and teeth aren’t perfect but they are all mine)

Changing lighting, colour, depth I don’t see the issue with, cropping your waist so it looks like a cartoon characters or sticking on bunny ears or that mad filter that makes your eyes look like a rabbit in head lights not so much!
Each to there own but if you’ve filtered yourself beyond recognition and plan to meet people be aware of the consequences of that xx |

Changing the colour of the photo is different.
Adding the affects that change the way your face/body is and pretending you actually look like that is catfishing.
Sooooo many people do this and I really don’t understand it. Unless you never want to meet anyone. Doesn’t this just set you up for a fall?

What sort of filters ?
I always use brightness/contrast adjustments to “improve” a pic/polish a turd. But I don’t apply filters that distort/disfigure or change my face.
SC filters - ears, tiaras, piggy noses - look ridiculous in my opinion. But I if someone thinks it’s cute and fun and wants to use them because they feel it improves how they look - to themselves and presumably
Others - then good for them, it’s all about personal confidence.

I have a mixture on my profile which have absolutely no filter and some I've changed the light contrast on.
I openly admit that changing the light contrast can change the evenness of my skin makes it look more youthful, so it is a bit of a cheat. But I think I'm real at least I hope I am |

"So many people using filters on there pictures....does this class as a fake profile?????"
This is a interesting subject OP .I may catch some heat for why I think its a interesting question because I've been on many a social in the past where the ladies in question did not live up to there profile pictures . So my answer is I don't filter my pictures because I never want a person meeting me to be disappointed by me in the flesh , intact I want it to be the other way around. impresses more by me in the flesh than they were by my pictures . |

It depends what filters you're talking about. In my opinion colour and light filters are fine, it's not really changing how the person looks, just polishing the look of the pictures. The silly ears I just find ridiculous, but if people think they're cute then crack on, I don't think anyone is going to be searching for someone with cartoon dog ears in Costa.
Anything that alters appearance I would class as deceptive though. Most of the time it is pretty easy to spot...panelled doors don't tend to have curved lines that perfectly match where someone has tried to cinch their waist in or make their bum look more rounded, and does anyone really believe that someone in their late 40's has the porcelain smooth skin of a china doll? As someone above said, if they're intending to meet then they're going to come unstuck at some point...it's not very fair on the people they're meeting though if they don't look like their pictures. |

Pet hate. Alter the lighting or colour fine. But change your face or body for the approval of strangers on the internet and somethings very wrong.
See loads of it here and for some reason it’s deemed as acceptable. It’s false and misleading. |

I wouldn't say changing lighting but clearly people using beauty filters or what ever they are called.
Gives you perfect skin, no blemishes, looking 10 years younger. Then you meet someone or see them on cam and it is a totally different person. It is catfishing essentially. Not just an issue on here, it's all apps and sites where you meet people.
I guess each to their own and if it helps them feel better bout themselves that is a good thing but it is very misleading. |

Yes that's the difference I think, enhancing is fine and I'd say most of us do that. But manipulating isn't something that does it for me, and I wouldn't meet someone who only showed themselves in Snapchat filters, curvy walls behind them, or if the pictures looked really old as I do think it is deceiving.

I've edited out zits, rashes (shaving - not those kind you sick fucks!), bruises, cuts, scars (as can be easily identifiable) and tattoos. Because some can be instantly recognisable to people and others are temporary blemishes that aren't life long. Shoot me now.
Likewise I've always removed ink. Again - easily recognisable so done for discretion.
I've also occasionally smoothed skin because harsh lighting has thrown shadows that make every small bit of 1 day old hair growth/stubble look like a full grown beard. Zero fucks given.
Have I ever changed body shape or done anything to make us look younger? Nope.
And that's all that matters to me.
If we were to look at meeting someone outside of a club environment there'd either be a F2F social first (so you'd see each other) or video messaging (again - you'd see each other.)
So do filters make difference to us? Nope. Bunny ears and whiskers look stupid unless you're a teenage girl but overly adjusted photos are easy to spot so it's bloody obvious if someone is trying to fudge how they look, what their body looks like or if they're trying to make their knob look bigger than it really is.
And that last one happens a lot.
