If there is something that is specifically important to your needs or requirements that determines whether or not you will meet, raise the issue in your first reply rather than after many weeks of messaging. Makes no sense and so frustrating |

"I need 2 bottles of crisp n dry, a butt plug and a peeled mango.
Sorry, Morrisons are all out of mangos. Will a kumquat do
"
Since when did Morrisons sell butt plugs? |

Instead of raising it in my first reply it's in my profile, so if someone doesn't read it that is their mistake and they are wasting their own time not me. |

If you'd said Lidl's, it would be in the middle aisle |

Scrap the butt plug and get me a leaf blower |

Similar for me although I'd substitute the bottles of crisp n dry for a car battery and the mango for an industrial-sized tub of swarfega. |

"Ot could be that they hadn't thought of that specific thing until it came up..."
This! 1000%
Sometimes red flags don't appear til a few messages have been exchanged.
If you were to list every important detail, preference and requirement, which of course can be fluid and change from time to time and also be situationally dependant on who/when/where you're meeting someone......then your initial message would be an essay that many simply wouldn't read.
You can't control if people change their mind, nor expect them not to if something that is said or suggested puts them off.

A parsnip doubles as a butt plug

Maybe they decided they didn’t want to meet you after chatting for a few weeks and getting to know you and just made up a requirement as an excuse so that they didn’t hurt your feelings. If they did genuinely have a requirement that they never deviate from then I’m sure they’d have mentioned it early on as they don’t want to waste their time either by chatting to someone who doesn’t meet their requirements. |

If there’s one thing that’s really specific I agree.
I chatted to a guy who can only meet every other Tuesday between 1pm & 4pm and didn’t mention it for over a week of chat.
Although amusingly that guy says I’m the “inflexible time waster” as I could only meet Tues, Wed & Thur evenings and daytimes or evenings Mon, Fri, Sat and Sunday. |

How busy is this man that he only has 3 hours free every other week! And such a random time, why are those 3 hours all he has free?
Did it make you think that he didn’t like you that much if he wasn’t prepared to make time for you and was actually making it incredibly difficult for you to meet up? |

No, it made me click that he was married/attached. His wife clearly had a regular commitment at that time.
He pushed for a while, until I blocked him, for me to swap my work day or take leave and seemed genuinely surprised that I wouldn’t. |

Yeah, definitely sounds like he’s in a relationship. Did he work irregular hours then? Just seems weird that he didn’t work every other Tuesday afternoon between 1 and 4 unless he works irregular hours and if he does work irregular hours then surely he’d have other times free when his partner was at work, unless his partner didn’t work. |

From what I could piece together my assumption is that he worked for himself and either the wife didn’t work or worked with him.
Tbh I didn’t dig too heavily as it just sounded like drama I wasn’t interested in getting into. Especially as he was still adamant he was completely single. Just busy apparently I’m |
