Talk of huge Autumn energy heating costs, petrol and diesel still high, families without food security. Will we literally see people freezing and starving to death this winter or at best severely malnourished. The perfect storm is nearly with us. What's going on here guys? |

Energy and fuel firms along with the government taking the piss out of people.
Raising prices to maintain huge profit levels and being allowed to do so.

An actual dictator rather than someone who pretends to be cuddly and kills you off anyway while siphoning off the public purse. At least it would be more honest.  |

It does seem odd if companies announce a windfall tax wont hurt investments for the next 10 odd years, then why would they not voluntarily pay more tax, donate to a worthy cause or the Gov take the lead and tax them.
The idea that an extra £250m (or whatever the sum is), can't be put to use is absurd. You could at minimum buy solar panels, instal them on estates where councils have large numbers UC claimants or unemployed and help with future costs all round. |

The greater the clarity the leader's position, the more obvious your choices become. Sadly, it will be a time where more people suffer, childrens' development gets irreversibly harmed and you’ll hear people bigging up the party in charge  . There should be shame poured onto these people |

I don’t know the answer but over the last 20-30 years all the poor and working class people started voting Tory and Brexit , and all the sensible & middle class people basically gave up voting or voted for daft parties like liberal or green and all the super rich greedy people laughed at everyone and then also voted tory and Brexit so maybe that’s it. ? |

Heard something interesting a while ago from someone who studies world affairs etc. They were that saying after the pandemic there will be something else straight off the back of it to squeeze prices and resources all as a way of lowering our standard of living and bringing more affluent countries more into line with those less well off. Interesting theory with everything that's going on. |
