The post on emotions got me thinking - that means I’ve had to sit and concentrate on my heart and head today !!

Why am I so sure I don’t want a relationship?

I can meet with emotions, but I know I can walk away without thinking ‘fuck, I like him/her’

I’m scared of becoming a ‘couple’ as in my younger days I HAD to have some kind of relationship as I wanted and needed that love.

I’m admitting it’s frightening thinking that I’d have to welcome someone into my craziness.

So - whatever your situation, what scares you?

Daddy long legs.

I hate their long, snappy legs.

I’m not a bit frightened of spiders but these things give me the creeps.

Dolls !

Irrational I know, always disliked them from a young age. I won’t watch a movie with them in or will close my eyes & ears if they appear

I got bought a Tiny Tears, it ended up being pushed & covered up at the back of the wardrobe, until mum found it and put it out again. So to stop this I broke its legs off, thinking that would be the end of it. Two months later come home, we have a surprise for you….. they’d sent TT to the dolls hospital to be fixed

Grateful I had a son !

I hear you! I’m the same. Clowns and dolls. And I got 2 girls. Baby annabelle and Barbie was all I could deal with. Then they brought out those real life freaky things when youngest was small! No chance. Nearly had a heart attack once when I opened my chest freezer and an Elsa doll was staring at me! Almost finished me off . She wanted to see if she’d get the frozen powers!

There are lots of stuff like that.

I had a long conversation with a friend yesterday who said that they were feeling helpless trying to be supportive to someone they care about when they know nothing can really change their situation. That has made them really upset and affecting their own well being. In some ways I also felt helpless as was not sure what to say other than all they can do is be their for them and I am here for my friend.

"Putin. "

Don't be. I've read the news in Russia today. Everything is going to plan, the people are being saved and the NAZIs are being vanquished. It's all OK and if the evil NAZI puppet Johnson trys to makes threats we can explode a huge nuclear torpedo to cause a huge 500ft radioactive tsunami and drown all of the UK.

So you see there really is nothing to worry about. Shame some people believe everything they read in the Free World media.

I fear melting down in social situations. Social situations scared me with new people, especially groups (no so much one on one). No so much these days (although I hide it well its still there). Mainly through exposure and practice. This scene especially the club scene has help a lot.

But I can still melt down, make social faux pas. But I've come to understand myself more and understand there's neurological reasons for this and why I dont always read social situations well. I understand thanks to My Girl that I'm far more attune to my social errors than the people around me, so not to stress. I've realise that everyone is weird anyway and just to give less fucks in general. So I now just do me and accept and own when I get socially out of my depth and weird. But group situations are still scary and sometimes I do still go off the edge (often with bizarre behaviour to the amusement of My Girl).

Getting old, losing independence but having no one I trust to rely on, losing mobility or mental acuity and being confused and disoriented or ending up in some shitty home for years waiting to die. I would much rather bow out on my own terms at some point that go through any of that and it should be made so much easier and acceptable to do that.

Becoming a burden to others and being operated on cut open . I woke up on the operating table as a kid during a routine operation and have a irrational fear of being operated on or cut open because of that fact .

But that's a fear I can control so it's a fear but the real thing that really scares me is the thought of becoming a burden to others in my old age because that possibility is out of my control .

I've got a phobia with Big spiders. They freak the shit out of me and I fall into some sort of panic mode. Heart rate increases, I go all clammy, fidgety and I can't relax until its dealt with.

Thats a phobia though.

I'm 45 and single. I'm scared of going old alone. I've never been successful when dating women. I dont have a huge pool of friends and everyone has already settled in life with partners, kids etc...

I think the boat has already sailed for having a family. Just don't like the idea of being alone. That sucks
