..when you grew up?
In those good old days before every kid wanted to be a YouTuber. What dreams did you have of a future career?
I wanted to be an engineer like my dad. I said I hated being inside and could never work in an office. So yeah, have been happily working in warm, dry, comfortable offices for the last 15 years
How about you? |

Always wanted to be a rock star! I did play in a few local bands in my youth, but never made it. Although the keyboard player in a friend's band is now the singer in Marillion, and a drummer I once played with is the cousin of Joe Elliott from Def Leppard!

I wanted to be an archeologist too. Even considered studying it at university. My reasoning was I love history and jigsaw puzzles
But a terrible history teacher at A level put me right off. Oh well. And to think I could have been the next female Indiana Jones |

The obvious answer would have been, I will tell you when I grow up and I'm being serious about that.
I honestly don't know what I wanted to do when I was at school. It certainly wasn't the job I do now, it was never something that I even thought about. I love my job and it is something I just kind of fell in to. |

A lot of people just fall into their jobs without real planning. I know I certainly did. Glad you found something you love. We spend so much of our lives at work it's important to enjoy it if we can |

I got fed up wanting to be something, as everything I looked at closed down.
A coal miner
Working at Ravenhead or pilkingtons glass
Engineer in the BICC factory
Passed the entrance exams to be an NCO in the navy, failed the medical.

I think you'd have looked fantastic in some khaki short shorts, hiking boots, a loose shirt, and a whip... sorry just off for a cold shower

Always wanted to be a footballer or race a motorbike. Fortunately I played to a decent level, but not enough to not work, so started somewhere 29 years ago until something better came along, I’m still there!!
On the plus side, I still race my bike. |

I am one of the lucky ones. If live to retire and be a tour guide doing English tours in a city somewhere warmish. That way I would still be learning and sharing what I know. |

Wanted to be a PE teacher but knew early on that I would never achieve the grades required.
Choice 2 was a Policeman but my parents seemed dead against it, so didn't allow me to pursue it.
Became a mechanic and have been doing it for almost 30 years. Still love it |

I wanted to be a Nurse, ended up being an early years teacher. Which I love tbf
My boys dream as a little boy was to create computer games... He now works in Edinburgh for one of the most prestigious men in the gaming industry with a recent promotion to manager of the scripting team.
Not bad for a little boy growing up in rural North Welsh Border where not a lot happens |

Too many. I still don’t know what I want to do. I tried so many too. I’ve been a clown at one point, no joke.
In school I said a Machanic but when I left I hit art college, then drama school. I finally became a Machanic in my late 20,s
Really young I wanted to be an astronaut, I mean who wouldn’t want to reach for the stars at a young age, now I’m content getting up the stairs. |

When my eldest left nursery they had a little graduation ceremony where he was asked what he wanted to be - he said "an uncle" He now wants to be a pure mathematician, which is something he can actually work towards |

I wanted to be a vet. I had the uni offer and everything, but things turned out differently. Mr KC wanted to do something with geology, inspired by his Grandad (a miner). He did just that originally, but has diverged now. |

"Before I discovered girls and beer…….a fighter pilot. "
My Dad was a Spitfire pilot in 1940 and I have gone through my entire life knowing I could never match his bravery. He even survived a defective parachute and ditching for several hours with a non inflated life jacket. An impossible act to follow. |

As a kid, I wanted to be a police officer. As a teen, I wanted to be an actor.
Now I’m actually doing what I’ve always wanted and enjoy doing which is security.
Been told I have a protective nature |
