I'm sure many of you must be loyal listeners. However, the format they are running today, in conjunction with Manx Radio, makes me realise why I don't listen to local radio stations. Driveloid pop songs instead of quality album tracks, too many jingles and waffle... I can't wait for the link up to end.
Which format do you prefer? |

"I haven't listened to radio for years. I'm too old for the hipster stuff these days so I just stick a tape in my Walkman.
Has the crank handle on your gramophone broken ?"

"I remember listening to radio Caroline when it was on a ship back in the 60s and that was great"
Well, it is still great now on the days when it is not teamed up with Manx Radio.
One of the big differences between Caroline and other stations is the lack of mindless waffle. Also they don't have a restricted playlist which can only fill a few hours. That isn't to say they don't have plenty of favourites but most of them tend to be the stuff I like.
I am actually listening to them on medium wave as they now use the very effective station at Orford Ness formerly used by the BBC World Service. They are also available via the internet. I also get them extremely well day or night on my car radio but, oddly, my power steering makes noises on their frequency and nowhere else.
Normally they play almost nonstop album tracks which have stood the test of time. Nothing I would call 'Hipster'!
Maybe someone there is a swinger who has read my earlier comment as there has been an improvement during the day!
