I was looking to buy a small appliance couple of months a go and looked in both comet and currys. The same item was £90.00 more in comet than currys which was right next door.
Little wonder they are in trouble |

Was in town early and most of Bridge Street is boarded up and shops are empty and it just looks very sad. Got a few tat pop up shops for xmas but that is it x |

Currys and pc world are still owned by the DSG group! Dixons still trade but only on line!
Comet has been losing money for a while now, the past few years their like for like sales have been decreasing!
Feel sorry for the 6,900 staff that are going to lose their jobs just before Christmas |

went into comet in peterborough on tuesday what a shitehole no idea on how to sell and they were arguing with a customer about a faulty tv saying it was ok the bloke was loosing his rag

If they are not, then unless you paid by credit card your not getting anything, as you become an unsecured creditor.
Better be up early if you paid for anything and be waiting for the doors to open, no drier ? then take something else you need instead or lose your money.

Many years ago, I was an independant retailer, selling and repairing television and audio equipment.
Because of the likes of Currys, Rumbelows, Fona, Comet and the likes flogging their cheap imported shite, I was unable to compete and was forced to cease trading.
Now because of the supermarkets selling their discounted stuff, Comet cannot compete .........
Sorry for all those who will most likely lose their jobs and for the customers who've ordered stuff that they will probably not receive but I ain't got any sympathy for Comet, or any of the others who may fail in the future, because they had no sympathy for me, or the 1000's of other independent retailers who went out of business because of them back in the mid 80's. |
