Best song ever?

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

A very subjective question I agree, but what is your personal all time favourite song? Remember, your choice, not according to polls or record sales.

I’ll get the ball rolling- Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones.

It would be interesting to see how many repeats there are.

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’

I agree with the above. It's a bit hard to pin point a single track. It's not prescriptive & can change on a daily basis. Sometimes I'm on a balanced even keel, sometimes I'm down & feelin' blue, sometimes I'm so angry I punch the wall.....

VERY ANGRY:

Black Sabbath - "Neon Nights"

Scorpions - "Blackout"

Nirvana - "Smalls Like Teen Spirit"

"Been Caught Stealing"

Happy:-

Van Halen - "Unchained" (Come on Dave ,give me a BREAK....)

Rush - "Working Man"

Van Halen - "Jump"

AC/DC - "Problem Child"

Rush - "Limelight"

Scorpions - "No One Like You"

AC/DC - "It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock 'N' Roll)

FEELING BLUE:-

Whitesnake - "Need Your Love So Bad"

Scorpions - "In Search Of A Piece Of Mind"

Uriah Heep -"Rain"

"I love an epic, twist and turns, great lyrics, solos for your air guitar etc. There's 3 best songs for me head and shoulders above the rest.

Hotel California- Eagles

Paradise City - GNR

Three Days- Jane's Addiction

"

Hotel California, I think we have a winner

Such a hard thing to pick so I've selected one for each mood.

Sound Of Silence - Disturbed. The sheer emotion in this version is off the scale when you need something epic!

Hotel California - The Eagles. The musicianship in this needs no introduction and almost a constant in the background.

The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary. My pick-me-up tune! From that intro to that first burst into the main song it never fails to get me in a better mood!

For something heavier I can't pick one. Far too many bands I listen to in this area!

I will go along with Hotel Fornicatia (as I like to call it) but I can't for the life of me work out what is so great about the Disturbed number other than that anything is better than the dismal original.

Very subjective. I’m not a huge fan of Queen, but I’ve never seen anyone not sing along to “Bohemian Rhapsody” or “Don’t Stop Me Now”

"A very subjective question I agree, but what is your personal all time favourite song? Remember, your choice, not according to polls or record sales.

I’ll get the ball rolling- Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones.

It would be interesting to see how many repeats there are."
