I spontaneously decided i want to go blonde, i have naturally red hair and currently its a faded bright red colour.
Am i best to dye it brunette and then go blonde a few weeks later or are there any great home dye kits that wont turn me orange in my attempt of going blonde? |

red is one of the worse colours to get rid of, I had the red stripped out of mine and a brown put on, it is still showing through a little though, also has made my hair really dry. Wish i would have just put the brown over the top now |

Superdrug do a kit you can use at home. I think it's called Colourb4. Look for dye removal kits. It worked great for me. Just make sure you rinse it for ages, at least double what they say. |

Best to get it done professionally.
Red hair will lift up to orange, then yellow.. Then brassy and if you don't know what you're doing it can end up looking terrible.
Your natural red will shine through very quickly.
Don't put the dark colour on now if you want it blonde in a few weeks, it's just adding more pigment that will have to be stripped out when you want to go blonde.
Go have a consultation in a salon, they can advise you best!
Good luck with it!
But, redheads have more fun.. I know I've been blonde

Would like to disagree strongly, I am a natural blonde, and I have enough fun to keep me entertained
Sassy, not sure, as never dyed my hair, but my friend tried the same at home and went a funny colour, so I would suggest having it down professionally. |

Just don't bother with the extra strength one as it's less effective than the normal one!
It's less damaging than the ones that hairdressers use. But you have to be careful what you put on your hair for two weeks after. And make sure you use some deep conditioning treatments.
You can get it from superdrug more readily than lots of other places.
Good luck and we want pics |

"just phoned up the hairdressers and she quoted me £80 to go blonde.. wahhhh
Maybe save up for a bit first " why not save and ask people to give money for Xmas and have it done at the hairdressers, as i know if it go wrong can cove up red again but your hair would really be in a bad way after. I know as one of my girls whos dark like me had a go years ago and it was over a year before she could get her hair feeling and looking how it used to look. |

maybe i best just save up and get it done properly. Im forever changing the colour so its damage limitation really.. I know going blonde will ruin my hair but id still like to do it with the least damage caused xx |

I stripped my hair the other week to go purpl. I was very dark on the ends due to build up of Brown dye.
I just used th colour b4 stuff and on the lighter bits (I'd tried just dying it purple a few days before) it worked well but didn't really lift the dark bit much. |
