Booked into a hotel well and gone back after a long day in work to find the place all locked up?

Working long hours on a site just over an hour from home so decided to book a few nights in a local pub. Her ladyship stayed the first night with me as today is BH and she's off. She left room key at the bar (having failed to get the breakfast she ordered as no one but the cleaner was there). I finished work, looking forward to a shower and a pint while I caught up on some stuff on my laptop but no - it was all locked with my clean work clothes inside and a long drive home/back in the morning. I'm not (as the Welsh would say) hapus iawn.

Oh dear. Not ideal. No emergency number to call? Hope you can sort it out!

Meh - drove home. Washing machine just finished, work trousers in airing cupboard, with a bit of luck they won't be too damp in the morning.

No, is there a bell you can ring? CCTV you can dance in front of? Someone should be there shouldn’t they? Maybe just bang the chuff out of the door?

Oh my, that's not good! Even no breakfast this morning....does this pub actually know you're staying there? I hope you manage to figure out what's happened and you get reimbursed but what a stress for you!

That's really bad management obviously they know they've booking and it's a bank holiday. They shouldn't be taking them if they're closing, hopefully you be reimbursed, lucky you could get home.

Tried those. Her ladyship contacted them on messenger which they replied to about an hour after I got home. Day staff didn't realise she'd left key at bar, custom was quiet so they shut up for the day

On the plus side I get snuggles tonight

That's really shit. They should have told you what the latest check (back) in time is or at least let you keep the key.

You should get a refund.

Well your home safe and sound - that’s the main thing - and enjoy them snuggles!

Derby

We were once on holiday in Lake District, stayed one night at a small hotel, went out for the day, came back and it was all empty. In our room was a packet of corn flakes for breakfast and some sort of message saying the owners had been called away but to enjoy our stay. We packed and left straight away.
