I’m aware I’m getting old but currently I’d still do me.
Seriously in the past yes but I did things that made me feel like a good person , call up your friends family see if they need anything, smash the workload next week , give staff encouraging feedback, help an old lady with her bags, hit the gym, have a haircut, jump on a sun bed and get a new ridiculously overpriced white tee shirt with a logo , find your mojo , you’ll love yourself again. |

I am happy in my skin. Am I the most attractive? Not a chance! Do I care? No.

I've seen many changes through the years whenever I stop and look in the mirror. This body has born 3 children via c section (otherwise I wouldn't be alive to see them grow into adults). I've endured lots of things life, 21 yr marriage, a cancer scare and the weight has gone up and down like a yo yo. My current issue is the menopause and undergoing investigations and all that is associated with it. Not happy about it but hey, I'm 52 and alive.... Main thing is acceptance of yourself and appreciation of what you have - who wants to be perfect anyways? I like being me - I'm good at being me |

I hate that bits of my body don't work properly, more than the aesthetics. My left leg is just useless. My lumbar spine is falling to bits. My under carriage is trying to turn itself inside out. I have constant neuropathic pain. I currently can't get most shoes on my left foot. So it's that which I hate. The uselessness. The lack of function. |

I think people out far too much value in what they see in the mirror. I used to be very self conscious but for some reason that has changed over time.
I know I’m not the best looking man in the world but I also know that I have a lot more than just looks to offer.
I say this quite often to people on similar posts. Stop fixating on what you perceive as your weaknesses and focus on your strengths.

I get that but there must be some things you like about yourself. Not even necessarily physically, it could be your personality, your intelligence, anything really. Find a couple of things you like about yourself and really focus on them. You’ll soon forget about the negativity. |

Doh, my mind.
I am becoming less self conscious. It's more about motivation after LD, I have loads I want to do but researching them then starting is the problem. |

That’s a great start. Once you realise people like you because you’re funny you’ll forget about the stuff you don’t like about yourself.

Are we talking about hating the fact that we’re getting older - and looking older op? Or have you never liked the view in the mirror?
I’m not thrilled that I’m getting older - each day there are new wrinkles (or seem to be) and a new part of me decides to ache.
I physically can’t run any more - my body just won’t do it - I can kinda hobble fairly quickly but that’s all.
However - sometimes I look in a mirror (usually after some effort with clothes and makeup) and think - ‘yeah - I’ve still got it!’ I still think that - on a good day - I’m relatively attractive for an old fart.
Lately I’ve started hitting the gym again - that helps as I’m slowly beginning to tone up again.
Overall I’d say that whilst I know I’m definitely not gorgeous I haven’t been beaten by the ugly stick either. |

I've never been happy with my looks but over the years I've learned to just get on with it.
Never done too badly with the women, but that's usually due to my personality than my looks.
Would definitely love to feel like I'm more than a 4/10 though. |

Limit the time you look in the mirror, I have stopped doing this. The longer you stare into it, the more critical and picky of yourself you become. We all spend far to long trying to change who we are rather than embrace it. Be kind to yourselves. |

Sorry you feel like that. Is this a sudden thought? Or have you always been inclined to this way of thinking? You have to learn to like yourself, just a little at first.
I get it though, I'm 47 and not getting younger, I'm a bit lumpy in places and at one stage it really got me down.
I joined the gym and it's working on my mindset as well as my body. I am a work in progress but you got to keep moving forward in the positive mindset |

Exactly where I am right now as well. I've lost that extra stone I was carrying, eating better, and about to join the gym to tone up again as gravity is starting to take effect! Oh to be 21 again and not have to bother. |
