Who drinks it?
I started a few weeks ago, never really liked energy drink a (only ever tasted Red Bull which was disgusting)
I like the Mango Coco, and the juiced orange one. I’m now trying the Khaotic and it lovely, tastes like sherbet.
What other ones are nice? |

"I thought they were bad for you? Sugar off the scale and full of pick me up stuff? I could be wrong
They do zero sugar ones x"
Yep.
But there's nothing wrong with the standard, in moderation of course.
Even too much water can kill you, after all.

"Never touch any energy drinks, not good for the heart "
This when my ex was going through the investigation and tests for getting a pacemaker fitted, we had some very eye opening conversations with the specialists. |

The sugar is the least of your worries, it's the caffeine, equivalent to more than 10 cups of coffee in 1 can. |

The recommendation is no more than one or two a day, I don’t drink them every day and I generally stick to one. Yes they may have a lot of sugar in them but unlike other energy drinks, they also have taurine and vitamins. I have a Vitamin D deficiency and I have to say I do feel better on them than off. |

The new gold ultra one is fantastic. Tastes like Lilt
I used to have a work colleague who constantly told me how unhealthy they were. Same guy drinks more in a week than I do in a year and lives on all things deep fried.
As with most things in life there is very little inherently good or bad. All about the overall balance of what you eat and what you do with your body |

How many was she drinking a day?"
She wasn't, they asked how much tea, coffee or energy drinks she consumed in an average day, also asked about pro plus. |

Is it? I read there's something like 92g caffeine in 8 ounces of monster Nd 100g in a similar sized coffee. Can't post the link though as it's not an authorized site. |

No its not. Can of Monster has 160mg of caffeine. Mug of coffee has between 90 and 200mg depending on whether its instant, filter (the highest), espressos etc |

What were the eye opening conversations if she wasn't drinking any? |

The conversation was about every day things that aren't good for you, energy drinks being one of them. Like some have already said, moderation is the key but none of them (the team of specialist nurses and doctors) would touch energy drinks after seeing the effect on the heart with monitoring. |

"Won’t touch energy drinks. Literally poisonous x
If they were poisonous they wouldn’t be on the shelf
Said the same about cigarettes x "
I think that’s different, you’re inhaling poisonous substances into your lungs that shouldn’t be there, if you do it for long enough it can cause cancer & therefore kill you. If they don’t cause cancer, it will cause lung diseases like Emphysema & COPD which both will kill you eventually. |

"The zero sugar range is probably the best of all the energy drinks but I love a green apple Carabao."
Never tried any Carabao actually. I really like some of the Reign ones, particularly green apple and lemon. But some of their flavours are awful |

Morrisons have them 4 for £2 but I haven’t really seen them anywhere else. I had a Reign one at work and I’m guessing it’s more of a preworkout drink because I felt tingly off it. |

Not noticed the tingly. But then I use them as a pre workout so I might not notice |

It was the weird jittery feeling from a preworkout so I’m guessing it’s got some other ingredients in it. It did taste decent though. |

Probably a sugar rush. I had a sugar rush the first time I had a Monster, went all dizzy honestly thought I was gonna drop lol |

No it was definitely that intense tingly feeling you get from pre workout. I might have to get myself one next time I’m not feeling it before the gym. |

No, it’s the caffeine that keeps you going not the sugar |

That's the only Monster I've ever liked. If I need an energy drink, it's one of those or a couple of the smaller cans of sugar free red bull. Preferably in a pint glass and downed in one. |

But they say the same about Coca Cola. CC doesn’t hydrate you, it actually has the opposite effect |

What are BCAA’s?"
Branch chain amino acids
And for the tingle feeling it’s an amino called Beta alanine that is in pre workouts it helps delay fatigue in your cells |

When I was at uni I used to drink one that was in a black and yellow can. I think the flavour was lemon tea? I can't anymore though because of a heart condition. I don't think I would anyway though as I was only drinking them at the time to power through all nighters . |
