Doesn't it last several weeks?
I doubt she'd get the extended holiday required.

According to my findings….
“ she had breached the standards of professional behaviour in relation to “orders and instructions” and “discreditable conduct”, so a final written warning should be given after gross misconduct was proven”
Not only that, she took her work laptop over with her (without permission) and ended up having to surrender it to the Show organisers. I imagine that pissed the Police boss off no end. All that paperwork!
And this all happened back in 2019. |

"Why would the Chief of Police stop this. They are do out of touch with the public mood "
Likely to be conduct bringing the service into disrepute.
Besides, paying for unpaid leave doesn't mean its automatically granted. |

"The Chief of Police is an old fossil.. why could she not be allowed to go on Big Brother..she could have had unpaid leave . What's going on here guys "
The chief of police has wider issues to consider than one officer's 15 minutes of fame |

These buggers baton charge a peaceful protest on Clapham common yet a WPC cannot get a few weeks unpaid leave in case she shames the police ..

The Met has been under heavy scrutiny for years, why would they want to allow something to happen that could cause even more issues for them.
You join any service, military, police etc. you sign up to the rules and have to obey orders. Disobey and get punished.
No sympathy |

Let's imagine it a different way round.....serving met police officer stars in Nigerian big brother fights with cast member on cameras (there's always a fight on bug brother).
What would be Tom's thoughts on how the ug boss should have dealt with this? I suspect he'd be accused of frivolous wave granting given the current staffing crisis in the police force.
Poor bugger can't win can he, Tom?! |

Her request for leave was granted, but she was told not to appear on the show. I understand the principle of bringing the force into disrepute, but think that this happens after an act and not pre-emptively as a blanket rule before hand.
More concerning for me was that she took her work issued laptop and handed it in while she was in the house. THAT is inexcusable imo |

She is one of them
They granted her the request for unpaid leave, just not the request to take part in the show |

"These police leader types are do out of touch with the citizens of this country"
Nothing to do with being out if touch.
About risk management. She wins it's all good but would bring very little of worth to the Met image, she gets in a fight or expresses a view that's controversial, the pissible fallout is in no way worth the risk of letting her take part. |

Yes Tom, I know, I mentioned above.
But why would anyone let something happen that could bring even more scrutiny, pressure, bad press etc. on them as an organisation. |

"If the WPC had won the competition then the Chief of Police would have taken the credit..
Police Officer Tom.
Not WPC."
Exactly this - that's so last century - literally, as the "W" prefix was dropped in 1999 for police ranks..
Our favourite troller from Essex must have missed that when it was all over the news! |

Good to see 'Police Officer' being used instead of the almost universal 'Plea Sofficer' who, I assume, is someone who soffices pleas for a living.
It seems quite normal for the 'Pleece' themselves to enunciate it in that sloppy manner. |
