When I was married I always had cats because I work full time and felt that I didn't have the right amount of time to dedicate to a dog, even though I would really like one one day. Now we live in rented accommodation which limits our ability to have any pets.

When Mr NBVN and I buy a house in a few years time then we will definitely have a dog... and maybe a cat too.

NBVN x

Dogs, especially working breeds, rather than 'Toy' or 'fashionable' breeds. I love Springer Spaniels above all, having had two, my first living to nearly 16 and our second until 17. Lovely creatures and I loved them as great explosives search dogs too.

Man's best freind isn't always a dog. My cat has always been there with me through the darkest and loneliest time of my life. During thar dark time he knew and never left my side, literally (he normally spends most of his time outside).

Cats. They have so much more personality. Are they plotting to kill me? Are they my best friend? Do they want me to tickle their tummy or is it a trap?

Dogs are cool but they’re just relentlessly happy and loyal it’s a little tedious.

Dogs.

Although cats are weirdly drawn to me. I have two that regularly come in my house, I do not feed them. They just make a beeline for my house.

If only I was able to just leave my door open and other types of pussy would turn up. Maybe I smell like cat food?
