Just listened to the fascinating podcast just one thing. Apparently walking downstairs and taking the lift back up is healthier than the reverse. Who knew?

Also eat beetroot!

Ooh that’s a strange one, did they say why? I always thought you burnt more calories going up a hill / stairs etc?

Will having too much beetroot make your wee go red?

It's to do with concentric v eccentric muscle movements.

And yes it will don't go to the drs about it's perfect normal folks.

Ah interesting thanks! I’ll take a look at that on that internet thing to read more!

It’s probably a bit like cows being able to walk up stairs but not down. Maybe. Or is that something to do with their knees?

“Healthier” and “better” is subjective

Eccentric training is great for hypertrophy and tendon strengthening

However, if we are talking from a perspective outside of injury. It’s better to just go up and down the stairs. As there’s no reason to remove the concentric part of the movement if you don’t need to
