Dress or Skirt with White Trainers
Jump to: Newest in thread
I’m a repeat offender of this, but not to work as I’d be the only one in trainers.
Is it necessary to pick at what you don’t like aesthetically though. It’s not illegal, it’s just us being comfortable.

It’s called fashion! Look it up .
(You probably don’t know that reference)
Also, it looks good in my opinion. Genuinely it is a fit that I really really like. |

I wasn’t “picking at” just expressing my feelings and at the same time asking what other people thought. Don’t turn this into something it isn’t please |

"Have you told them you find their sartorial choices unappealing? Because I'm sure they'd be tripping over themselves to correct themselves if only the poor dears were made aware."
Maybe we should! After all the vitriol guys get for keeping his socks on during sex for similar comfort reasons is ok to be called isn’t it |

I have a selection of white body suits that are cleavage happy and collared (so smart looking ) I wear with my patterned skirts plus white trainers .
Comfortable to wear on my feet , I find them a nice looking style and Thsts all that matters .
Have had a guy at petrol station tell me I would look better in stockings with heels He was in his 60s though so from that era

My style is my own, nothing I wear is for the benefit of anyone else.
If someone likes it they like, if they don’t they don’t - I can feel just as confident in a dress and trainers as I do dressed up for a night out!
It’s not the clothing it’s the person wearing it x |

People can wear whatever they want. One persons catwalk is another’s catastrophe sure that some of my choices over the years have not been everyone’s cup of tea.
I personally wouldn’t wear Crocs or tracksuits though |

I doubt trainers are allowed at most places of work, I have a pair of ballet style pumps I wear to commute to and from work, it's just easier for travel, like women swapping shoes for driving.
I think it looks nice though. Each to their own I say. |

"I think it's a nice look on some but in general I'm not a fan.
This is just me commenting on the type of look I like, I'm not asking anyone to change to fit with my fashion preferences "
Oooh loving the little disclaimer at the end there. Showing your forum experience. |

I wear smart trainers to work. They're often the only shoe that my swollen left foot will fit into. I can't wear formal shoes (even flat ones) most of the time because of the rigid structure. I'm a lady with size 8 feet and so trying to wear over-large shoes to compensate is nigh on impossible (size 9).
I'm going to plump for comfort over style every time, as I have to do with my clothing choices (to avoid the hypersensitivity of the skin on my left leg - swishing fabric or certain textures cause a burning feeling in my leg which is quite horrific.)
Ladies fashion choices are just that, their choices. We're not there to look nice for other people to gawp at. |

I'm all for it. Comfortable no doubt and I think it looks bloody hot... but in all truthfulness it's all about who's wearing what and how they exude confidence in what they wear, no matter what it is! |

What nonsense. Menfolk deserve to see women looking pretty and wearing heels with their office attire. Least we can do. Sorry people don't understand OP. |

"I’m guilty of wearing them but their more a fashion pump rather than a sports trainer
What’s your thoughts on guys that wear a nice smart suit with white fashion pumps ? "

Perhaps that question is a candidate for a fresh new thread? |

Nigel Havers wore a suit and trainers on The Bidding Room. I thought it looked awful |

I think it’s probably fine for the youngsters, but it’s shiny black oxfords all the way for me. |

"A lot of my female colleagues wear trainers to work and then change into something more formal when they get to their desk. I’ve always found it quite attractive."
Yeah, that's what I noticed as well. If it's more comfortable then why not? I sure as shit wouldn't want to walk around all day in heels for the sake of fashion. |

It's a sign you're getting well old.
I'd have worn trainers to work if I could have.
I'm not sure what line of work you're in but it's good that people can work comfortably.
White probably looks smarter than darker colours. |

I like things that challenge societal norms.

Personally I think that womenfolk deserve to see men looking pretty, wearing smart clothes and smelling nice. All too often I see, in any environment, women who have made an effort to dress well accompanied by men who appear to have come straight from a building site.
(Mr KC seems to be an exception, every time I've seen him he has been dressed beautifully ) |

No doesnt bother me, its a timeless 'tennis' look.
I dont like 'dr martins' or 'vans' with anything though i find them a turn off regardless how hot the wearer is. |

Awwww thanks Polly. He does usually dress pretty smartly, although can sometimes be found in scruffs to mow the lawn etc |

"I must be old fashioned or does anyone else dislike this new fashion of women wearing dress/ skirt and white trainers to work ?
And before anyone says it I know trainers are comfy. So are mine "
It’s for wearing to work - as in commuting! When you get to work you then change into smart shoes!!!! |

"I live in Converse. Heels just seem so overdone these days. Almost becoming a bit "council"."
I am really surprised that heels aren't nowadays seen as some sort of gender role reinforcement item and therefore no longer acceptable.
However, I am biased. I think that any footwear which forces toes together to form a pointed foot on either sex is a stupid idea. |

I find it strange. I might wear trainers with smart casual clothes but not to work or, for example, on House of Games. With a nice dress, white pumps just look silly. But then, lots of people (especially meejah types) wear strange things. |

Only if they're an undertaker.
Otherwise I couldn't care less what people choose to wear.

"Women always get away with being casual at work. Meanwhile men are stuck in shirt, tie, suit and shoes. "
Incorrect in our workplace. We have some excessively casual men (read scruffy) but I can't recall any similarly scruffy women. It's only male employees I've had to remind of there being a (very flexible) dress code. |

Perhaps the scruffy men stand out more as they're not in a suit. |

Tracksuit shorts with a polo neck t-shirt for a (non PE) teacher? Nope.
Jeans with holes and a t-shirt with last night's dinner splashed down it?
Suits are by far the exception - Mr KC chooses to wear one but he is one of very few who do. Most men wear some kind of smart-ish trouser and a collared shirt. Few ties. Ties/suits are completely optional. |
