I've got one (sort of)
Autogyro/Gyrocopter
predates the helicopter (the heli would not have been possible without the gyro)
Invented by the Spanish genius, Juan de la Cierva. First flew in 1923.
Some guys flying (and driving!) in Iceland.

And who can forget Wing-Commander Ken Wallis, who built and flew "Little Nellie" in the James Bond film "You Only Live Twice"? Ken was still flying at the age of 96...
Filmed here aged 94. A crime that he was never knighted.

Special mention to the late Norman Surplus, who died last week. The first man to fly around the world in an autogyro. A lovely guy from Northern Ireland.
Here's Norman and buddy James Ketchell landing on a highway in Canada in a thunderstorm...

I don't think we need to worry about Kev and Trev getting their hands on these anytime soon. |

"Can you park them in Blue Badge bays? "
Since they’ll have to confirm car type rules for the UK roads I don’t see any reason why not.
Not sure about the pilot aspect and whether they are suitable to carry a chair. Think they are two seaters and have a mac baggage load of 20kgs. |

They’re going on sale this year apparently and order books are full. Don’t see the point myself. Too
Much if a compromise unless you have a private airstrip on your property. Better to have plane and chauffeur car at destination surely. Time you save on switch at airport waster finding parking at other end!
But nevertheless I’m sure there will be a niche market and cool to see the tech develop. |

Current chair weighs 12kg but awkward width with wheels on. Two seater - I might have to wait for the Fly ForFour to come out |

"No, just strap me to a drone and I'll have a nap as I'm being delivered."
Might be a bit draughty for a drone. But I do like the idea of self delivery rather than a commute journey. |

I take it you heard about the Drone Port in Coventry?
They were demonstrating the Supernal eVTOL there, which can carry 4 passengers. |
