It's seems 50/50 whether they like it or not. Some say they will block you. Confused??

Sometimes I’ll be lazy and send a wink, I do look at mine and have either winked back or sent a message, I do think its an easy way to show a bit of interest however completely understand why some don’t like or look at them

I like a wink, better that than being a copy and paste message bandit. If I get a wink back then I’ll send a (non copy and pasted) message

…….. I wink …..

Gives them something to do rather dictate to everyone

I think the wink system is a good one personally. But if someone states that they don't respond to them then there's no point in sending one.

I don't look at winks although if you do look at someone's profile you can see that they have winked which is an indication that they may have interest in you.

I still don't usually notice until after a message though .

If they have read my profile it shouldn't be a question.

winks are great - like trying to catch someone's eye in a bar.

but does one reply with a wink, leaving it for them to elaborate on their interest, or a message?

Up to you.

We've received a number of winks, we assume off the back of this thread. We winked back to acknowledge them

I like winks but if it's from a blank profile I don't see the point, not so keen of its from a cock picture profile either but that's just me

Totally agree, if winked I want something that's going to draw me in.

I think a wink can be taken in 2 ways, either laziness with no imagination to start a conversation or the person is shy ( not all people are confident in an approach , for numerous reasons ) always worth a look at profile to try figure out which it may be.

I would never wink at anyone that specifies on there profile not too

I send winks not because I am lazy but sure there are many messages to wade through for some and then hope that the profile will capture their imagination

I've done my fair share of winking. It's just the total randomness of receiving a reply. You can write half an essay, but you won't get a reply. So sometimes it's just a wink. Seeing as both are ignored I'd say each works as well as the other, i.e. not at all.

I never get any notifications so I just looked and I have loads of winks! I feel really bad for not seeing them. Im sorry if you winked me and I didn't wink back. Should I toss a sheep at you as penance?

A wink is a nice way of saying your interested. If you go out you eye someone up with a little flirt so whats wrong with a little wink. It's just an ice breaker between 2 people. People on here that say don't look at winks they're lazy, send a message etc....they're just up em selfs.

I don't think there's anything to be gained by winking to be fair. I read the profile and if I feel like I meet what she's looking for then I send a message.

Wink just shows your intrested, if we like the profile we message back.

If we get a wink from a profile that's just not for us we just delete, the block tends to be seldom used tbh.

Some people like winks as a "Hi, I'm interested, are you?", some hate them, and even more don't pay any attention to them at all
