Who exactly would be able to access it? Police? Government? Health insurance databases? Who exactly would be linking in to it?
Probably not then.... "
Let's say only the police can access it for helping solving crimes x |

Depends who was holding it and for what reasons. I’ve no issue with it being held by police or whatever as I have no intention of committing any crimes, but the idea that an insurance company or potential employers might access it in terms of genetic predispositions and using that data to make decisions about suitability or premiums is shady as fuck. |

I don’t think I would even those ancestry sites have clauses where they can share with others which will lead to a place where some people won’t be able to get health/ life insurance because they are prepositioned to certain diseases |

So having a database of the criminals jizz is a good idea... But for the vast majority of law abiding folks who haven't left their jizz behind .. What value does it add? |

You do realise this is a hypothetical question and you would have the right to refuse |

Because most criminals were law abiding citizens at one point in their life. |

If your relative jizzed on a thing, you can help get them stitched up by helping the police narrow it down to a degree of relationship to you?
(That sounds wrong ) |

"I'd rather like it if everyone's DNA was held on a law enforcement database.
But I also see certain issues surrounding it.
What if they cloned you? "
They'd soon realise what stupid plan that was |

I've enough scars and tattoos to make it obvious.
No brands yet though |

Would you really put 100% trust and certainty in law enforcement to never misuse such a database?
I will never unequivocally trust law enforcement, police, or any other large group of people with power. |

Tell us a secret that only you would know. It’s the only way to be sure. |

That's probably covered by "certain issues". |

I don’t like the idea you could be convicted on the grounds of some mis-administration or data error, it’s the worse case scanario identity theft , people can lose everything all because of decisions made on computer records |

"I’m all for them holding my DNA. I would like to see everyone on the blood and bone marrow database. If my DNA can help someone in anyway then let’s do it. "
Yep, me too, im on a bone marrow register. I would have no problem with my DNA being held on file by the police as i have no intention of doing anything nefarious. But there would be plenty of issues surrounding this that it would just never work. But great question OP. X |

That would never happen would it? They have a reputation for being so good with tech after all. |
