I've kind of been in this situation. Once dated a lady who wasn't so well off. But she worked hard. Although I earned a lot more than her, she always insisted on going half's. She was a strong woman (mentally).
I don't know but some people are quite happy to be someone's 'Toy boy/girl'. I'm sure we've all fantasied about dating a rich partner who PAYS for everything and you're getting great sex and new discoveries from the wise owl.
I don't mind the wise owl part, but I think it's probably best to go half's. |

Relationships need to be equitable.
I used to be with a teacher who earned more than me and I always struggled to go halves out of pride (she liked to do a lot of things) but really - it's all about equability.
Equitable relationships are where people will share in kind to feel equal. It works best when it's communicated imo. The highest earner might be so happy to have the other person around that makes it equitable in itself!
Inequitable relationships (where one person feels they are doing/spending etc) too much, can often struggle after a point. |

I guess I’m currently a toy boy, although we don’t see it that way. She’s incredibly wealthy with very expensive taste, and I earn moderately well but I’m saving for a house
So she picks up most of the tabs. But I still pick up everything I can and make it up to her in other ways like nice surprises, planning days out and just generally we get along really well and have a great time |
