Have you ever played a game and the music of a certain level sent a shiver down your spine?
What music do you remember from a video game that you found pretty scary?
I can remember one from an old game I used to play as a kid called Alien Trilogy where you are in the hive wandering through the dark and you could hear the cocooned victims weakly saying "kill me".
The music on that level is absolutely haunting, filling the atmosphere with dread, hopelessness and despair.

That alien trilogy game was awesome, and yeah the sounds we're great. The door creak from resident evil was alarming.
Idk if it's scary, but the Warhammer Mechanicus soundtrack is probably the most atmospheric. |

Another piece of music I find creepy is from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night called Abandoned Pit.

This music always gave me the creeps and would make me dread going to lower levels in the game. |

Who... are you from FF7 whenever Sephiroth is about made him such a foreboding character to young me.
Also the theme fro Lavender Town in Pokemon red/blue for the same reason.
Those only 16bit sounds help i think somewhat make the noises more unnatural then when you have a full proper orchestra, not to demean music by a full orchestra though |

Hellblade; Senua’s Sacrifice.
Not so much the music, but the voices whispering to you, the ambient sounds, the feeling of dread.
There’s a reason why they say to play it with headphones on. And it’s a brilliant depiction of what it’s like to live with Psychosis. |
