Sunshine makes me sad

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Don't get me wrong I like the longer days and drying my washing on the line.. but the sunshine sends my brain back to nicer times, of being young and having my whole life ahead of me, of summers with my family etc and then I feel a bit sad.

I assume I'm probably on my own on this

Does anyone else have certain seasons or weather that brings on the sad?

Yep. Winter. He cold dark nights. The wet weather. Having to wear more clothing. It’s we full and really puts me in a bad mood most of the times.

I love the sunshine, I’m more me.

Summer.

I could quite happily go without it as heat equals a very grumpy and sleepy me, 25°c is my max temperature tolerance range

Yes. I hate winter.

Your reasoning for hating summer is understandable, OP, but you’ve still got your whole life ahead of you.

When it’s warm I get fear of missing out. The reality of these 60-70 hour work weeks catch up on me and I wonder what I’m doing this for. Will it ever end? Will I regret it in 20 years?

Bring me sunshine

In your smile

Bring me laughter

All the while

I generally don’t like the summer.

I don’t like the heat.

I get dreadful, debilitating hay fever symptoms.

Sleeping is almost impossible.

Peoples expectations of me to be cheerful because “it’s summer”.

Bring on the snow.

Springs my favourite season,

I like to hear the robin sing

Makes me feel the joy within

The smell as chestnuts roast

And on the fire

The crumpets toast

But the robin sings in winter

Is it winter

that ya inta.

I’m a summer baby… I’m pretty sure I have that SAD condition… because I’m just not happy in the cold dark wet winter.

Give me a hot sunny blue sky summers day any day of the week

Aww OP you’ve plenty of life ahead of you yet. I’m 51 and feel like I’m just getting started.

I think the only time a season makes me sad is the winter, but that is only because NYE falls in it and always makes me tearful thinking of those past, the rest of winter I love.

Summer all the way for me, I really do feel different when the weather is grey and miserable for any amount of time. Plus I hate the cold.

Worthing

I am not keen on January and February. Always want it to be Spring around that time! Although cold crisp and sunny morning walks are fine.

Hey summer chicken, don't be sad, you've still got some life in the old bird yet.

I don't really like summer, mainly because walruses aren't suited to the heat.

I do love certain seasons because of traditions and upbringing.
