Phone cable will be thinner than the power cable and usually white but if not sure you could get a Volt Stick which glows when you hold it against a live cable. |

"I cant take photo as im at work at moment, will try get a volt stick after work from screwfix. Thanks for helpful advice people much appreciated ?? "
Keep in mind the volt stick only works if there’s power going through it
Best bet it to try check the cable too. Most cable is labelled so you should be able to get an idea of what it is if the cable isn’t too worn |

"Ill try checking to see where it goes, i just know nothing about electric so need sum advice"
If you don't know anything about electrics, then I'd recommend getting a tradesman in to deal with it. Electricity is the last thing you want to blindly mess with.

Most power cables are underground*. Chances are the cable attached to the house are phone cables. Usually there's a cable dangling down from the connection, before going through the wall/window frame so you could probably follow it.
*Subject to Topography
But others have said get an expert in just to double check.
