Do you grow your own veg and/or fruit? Have you planted your spuds and onions yet or perhaps you just grow your own herbs like I do.

My brain went straight to penis thoughts like the above did

In answer to your question yes, I am very green fingered and can grow pretty much anything. That's my ideal, I'll grow it and he can cook it

Sounds great. Nothing like having all that fresh fruit and veg you grew yourself. I wish I had more time to do more, perhaps when I retire

There's something magical about planting a seed, watching it grow, then being able to pick and eat.

Absolutely is. I used to grow lots of veg, mainly in a big greenhouse, and had a few apple tees too but don't have that now where I live. I just have lots of herbs all year round which I use daily as love to cook.

Apparently they are 'unisexual' as they have both male and female flowers on the same plant unlike other similar plants

Yep!

Potatoes are in their bags

Tomatoes are in the grow tent

Broad beans are getting used to being outside

Peas are too

Strawberries are in hanging baskets

Lettuce leaves have been sown

Chives are in pots

Tomorrow I will be sowing rocket, parsley, rosemary, beetroot and broccoli.

Bring on the zombie apocalypse.

Wow, that's an amazing and enviable selection. It's the beans ans tomatoes I miss most for some reason but still enjoy all the herbs.

Yeh, I love broad beans in a salad, and nothing beats tomatoes you have grown yourself. I’m going to try to make tomato sauce for jars that should last all the way though winter if I preserve properly, but it’s my first attempt, so they’ll probably grow furry within a fortnight. Lol

Worthing

Got a lot of tomato seeds sprouting now. Planted trailing plant seeds which are growing nicely in hanging baskets. A number of strawberry plants grown from runners are doing well.

Lol, I believe if you cover the top with oil it stops it from doing that. Mind you I never made it myself, I just do that when I open a jar of tomato paste and seems to work

My parents do but it's only really the low maintenance stuff that thrives as my mum isn't green fingered so most of it is left to my dad

I would recommend it though, garden grown veg tastes so much better than shop brought
