A good quality wine is perfect with the right meal. But the market is so big I wonder if I’ll ever understand it when people talk about the unique tastes of a single bottle in a market of thousands |

"Red or White ? Favourite grape/ variety ? New world or old world?
Yes... and please
What do you want?"
Any ... they all have a time, place or occasion that it suits I'm sure of it ... sometimes even the company you are with can change the appreciation of a wine... |

All depends on what I’m in the mood for. Tend to drink more red in the winter & white/rose in the summer, big fan of a riesling. But most of all like it when someone pours me a glass & keeps filling it up!

Beneficio
Perez Cruz
Chateauneuf de pap
Hummingbird
To name some of the favourites |

Most good Italian whites, Argentina’s Malbec and Rioja are my faves. If the supermarket has reserve/reserva I’ll usually try it else import or get online , supermarkets only tend to stock the stuff the restaurants won’t buy these days |

"Like all colours, countries and varieties with exception to Spanish, Italian and French wine's. "
Don't like British wine either its usually weaker. California, Australian and South African are my favourites. |

Always red...
I don't mind old or new world, medium to full bodied, not too heavy on tannins.
I'm a huge fan of German reds after living there but they are very hard to come by in the UK...
Aldi have an Austrian zweigelt in at the moment for £6 which is a bargain for lovely easy drinking red |

Red: Rioja Crianza's and Reserva's, Primitivo's from Puglia and when we do drink French we prefer the more southern ones suck as from Languedoc Roussillon among others. Not keen on Bordeaux or Burgundy. Recently been getting some nice everyday reds from Jumilla (Spain) and what we think is Spain's best kept secret. Enrique Mendoza from DO Alicante, yes Alicante.
White: Spain isn't exactly renowned for whites but there are a few hidden gems. Some of the Albarino's from Galicia are nice but we like the Verdejo from Rueda. When in Germany we drink an Italian Pinot Grigio.
Rose: Yes we admit to drinking it especially in the summer. We always look for Rose's from the Navarra region in Spain.
Now after typing all of that, where's my glass? |

I like a variety of wines.
White is nice chilled...probably a Sauvignon blanc.
Red i like a Valpolicelo Repasso. Had an amazing Ca Rugate 2012 Amarone. It was stunning.
On a hot day, a chilled Malbec or a nice French Rose is good.
However, I don't drink wine anymore.
I don't miss it much |

"Red - tick
Wine- tick
Contains alcohol- tick
but what about Rose"
Only if it’s sparkling.
I am of course joking, I like nice wine, my favourite is a Malbec |

Post pandemic
Red - love a GSM -Australian or a good Primitivo
White - Albarino every time
Rose it has to be cold and sparkling and from the only region in France.
During pandemic - anything that was on offer at the local shop! |
