I’m seeing a dr next month and I’m booked in for vaginal tightening and rejuvenation.
Has anyone has it? Were your results good?
Apparently he puts a probe in and you can’t have sex for 6 weeks if that rings any bells. ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

"I haven't had it and honestly the thought kinda states me
How the fuck are they gona tighten it??"
I didn’t ask, I’ll leave that to the skilled hands of the dr
Apparently one treatment is all that is required for my age group ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

"Yeah probably better off not knowing.
Is the procedure performed under general or local anaesthetic? "
Local. He says it’s uncomfortable rather than painful but my pain threshold is massive anyway so I’m not worried about that. I don’t mind pain if the results are worth it. I’ve tried so many procedures (not on my vagina!) that have been shit! |

"How much research have you done on the procedure?"
Some, not a lot. I’m quite impulsive
I’ve read that it is effective and over 80% do not need a second treatment. |

I worked for someone who offered this treatment. She had it herself and was very impressed. She said her sex life got quite a boost and her orgasms were better. No side effects. It stimulates the collagen in the vaginal walls to tighten up - is that the same one you're having? |

"Pretty sure mines beyond rejuvenating.
Noooooo! I doubt it needs it "
Well, to be fairs it's pretty unused.
Though I've never even had my nails done, I feel I should start with something simpler than having a probe stuck up me. |

Which method is being used, if you don't mind me asking?
I'd be concerned with scarring and loss of sensation.
I hope it all goes well for you. |

I think it’s similar to HiFu but with some added extra like Gspot filler etc
Sounds similar.
Glad to hear she liked the result - I’ve only heard good things so far ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

There’s no cutting. It’s a HiFu type probe from what I’ve heard and he uses filler to enhance and even out the lips and fill the g spot ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

Wtf ? Does it have any affect on sensitivity etc ?
Does the treatment need to be reproduced regularly as fillers get broken down ?"
If the gspot filler gives me more intense orgasms believe me I’ll be getting it as often as required! |

I read reviews from clients and it was all positive. The only word of warning is that the FDA warned against some treatments - basically not enough clinical testing. That was a while back though but most of the technology comes from the US. |

This kind of rejuvenation was originally and primarily aimed at those with incontinence- which affects over 40% of women who've given birth. It's actually a fantastic alternative to mesh surgery for those women and incredibly effective and straightforward. |

Not enough evidence plus evidence of harm. Women who were burned, disfigured or otherwise harmed. There's also been some evidence from urogynaecology surgeons of scar tissue forming, which although it doesn't demonstrate harm at the time, impacts their ability to perform other surgery in the future.
If it was me, I'd be consulting a gynaecology or urogynaecology specialist before having anything done to my lady bits, not a general plastic surgeon or nurse. Some of these procedures are considered non medical so don't have to even be done by a doctor. But that's just me. |

Sorry but there's exceptionally limited evidence any non medical therapy such as FemiWand or similar is effective for treating incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse. Almost all the "studies" that suggest it is helpful for serious medical issues like incontinence are done by and funded by the private clinics who use the procedures and are incredibly selective. The FDA specifically issued advice against such treatments for pelvic organ prolapse etc. I agree mesh is not to be used either, but there are far more effective treatments than either zapping your vaginal mucosa or embedding mesh.

I think some treatments are not great and have those risks. The woman I worked for was an ex surgeon and the clinical data for the treatment was fantastic. That's why it was thousands! Women should do their research into the treatment and the practitioner for sure. |

It's good that you're seeing someone who specialises in gynaecology. Many clinics use "trained" practitioners (aka no medical qualifications at all, not nursing or anything). Kinda similar to Botox etc, which can theoretically be administered by pretty much anyone (for cosmetic uses). |

I had my (large) rectocele repaired surgically and my perineum cobbled back together (18 years after it broke). No mesh, all very successful. Other bits are broken beyond repair, awaiting removal as soon as I can ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

If someone is making a lot of money from something they aren't going to cite negative research or reviews.
With something this important I'd do a hell of a lot of research before I let anybody touch my vagina.

I was shocked to read how many women in their 70s and 80s were hugely affected - it's a massive issue for women. If only this kind of treatment was more cost effective.
I was ready to flatly refuse mesh, if it was even hinted at.
I had my (large) rectocele repaired surgically and my perineum cobbled back together (18 years after it broke). No mesh, all very successful. Other bits are broken beyond repair, awaiting removal as soon as I can "
That's good to hear. People don't realise how bad things can go, when they go bad.

"I worked for someone who offered this treatment. She had it herself and was very impressed. She said her sex life got quite a boost and her orgasms were better. No side effects. It stimulates the collagen in the vaginal walls to tighten up - is that the same one you're having?
I think it’s similar to HiFu but with some added extra like Gspot filler etc
Sounds similar.
Glad to hear she liked the result - I’ve only heard good things so far
I read reviews from clients and it was all positive. The only word of warning is that the FDA warned against some treatments - basically not enough clinical testing. That was a while back though but most of the technology comes from the US.
You’re correct, this dr specialises in gynae procedures and has a great reputation by all accounts but couldn’t agree more
It's good that you're seeing someone who specialises in gynaecology. Many clinics use "trained" practitioners (aka no medical qualifications at all, not nursing or anything). Kinda similar to Botox etc, which can theoretically be administered by pretty much anyone (for cosmetic uses)."
You can go into a big Superdrug and get it done. Bloody horrifying that. |

Yup. If the Botox is for something like treating incontinence (it can be injected into the bladder and all sorts) then it's regulated as a medical treatment and must be administered by a doctor. But in your face for cosmetic purposes? Ermintrude from Sales can do it. |

Are you doing this to heighten your own pleasure? Is there enough evidence to suggest it will?
I'd hate to think your doing it for other people. I know men make a lot of jokes about 'loose' blah blah but in actual fact I've never heard any truthful complaints about any woman's goods. I'd personally prefer them how nature intended like others have mentioned. |

"Can I ask why you're doing it?"
I love getting things done, a lady here in Antalya has just been and had it done last month and raved about it. I then saw it advertised at a clinic in Manchester, messaged the dr and voila!
She says that her orgasms are immense now and last so much longer. |

I had no idea this was a thing
At the end of the day, it's for your own comfort and pleasure and no one can tell you what to do with your body. Boring answer but if you feel like getting it done, go for it! Can it be reversed though if you don't find it as pleasurable as you would've though? |

Has anyone has it? Were your results good?
Apparently he puts a probe in and you can’t have sex for 6 weeks if that rings any bells. "
I’ve heard they are crazy for something like this in South Korea with clinics tightening it up to the point that it’s like brand new , if ya know what I’m saying! X
Is it an expensive treatment? I’d say, definitely let us know how it is x ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

I don’t think that it is but then I haven’t got a penis to stick into it to know.
I’ve never had any complaints but who knows.
I’ll soon find out how tight it is when the dr assesses it.

This isn't picking at you in any shape or form but:
If you do pelvic floor exercises several times a day all the time like you've said above, your muscles are already going to be as good as you possibly can get them, a probe won't make them any tighter. It will just make you believe they are.
It's an internal procedure which you will never actually be able to see the physical difference in the muscles to have any form of proof they have been improved.
Unless every muscle was surgically cut, pulled tight and repaired its impossible to use a probe as a non surgical procedure to get them any tighter.
Sex after 6 weeks is going to feel fantastic to anyone and will feel potentially different anyway just because you've stayed away!
This to me is just another idea that's done the rounds via social media and cosmetic groups/possibly celebrities as they love to endorse stuff like this and cosmetic surgeons dupe people into parting way with money for something that either doesn't work or never lasts.
If its not surgical it won't do much long term.

It isn't the muscles, its the collagen in the vaginal walls which can be stimulated. I agree that many of the treatments on the market are just...marketing though!
The vagina atrophies as women pass menopause - the walls get thinner and sometimes inflamed and sex can be really painful. And it affects continence. Just like the reduction in collagen on the face, collagen in the vagina reduces. This isn't why celebs are getting it - they're just jumping on the band wagon - I agree with you there.
I'd like to think that women experiencing this could access some help and there are a few treatments known as vaginal rejuvenation which might. As LG says - it's something to do a lot of research about before going down that road. But it is a real solution for some. |

When I've looked at injectables for collagen growth for my knee (injury and operations in my early 20's). It's not been a one off procedure it was every few weeks. Does make me wonder the validity of a one off procedure to the vagina. |

Have a look on the Real Self website. You'll have to make an account. It's good for any cosmetic surgery procedures.
It gives info from people who have had things done so you can read the good and the bad. Also surgeon reviews. ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Funnily enough I was reading something about this sort of thing online this morning in my search for information about menopausal relief for a dry vag. and uti’s.
Never heard of it before! Was called a femilift or something? Not sure if the same sort of thing? |

I haven’t had the tightness accessed yet but I don’t think it’s too bad, never had any complaints.
I’m interested to see what the dr thinks
Mine did an internal exam and I had to squeeze as hard as I could. Quite funny now I think about it
Do you have to grip onto a gauge or something or just the dr’s finger?
It was the consultant's two fingers. He goes by how strong you can grip them.
"
Now I know I missed my vocation in life……. ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

I know about one in particular - it lasts for 12-18 months.
What was the name of it? So I can look it up. Last time I read a biggish study was a few years ago. My knee is a nightmare "

Anything that stimulates the formation of collagen in a part of the body that is formed from epithelial mucosa is just generating scar tissue. Scars are collagen-heavy areas of injury. Zapping the mucosa with high frequency ultrasound or cryotherapy or lasers will just give scar tissue. It's less flexible and so yes, it'll feel tighter. It risks any surgery needed in future being more complex or impossible (existing scar tissue can compromise repairs).
Although the OP may be attending the best clinic and taking advice from a gynaecology specialist (as she states), most of these procedures are considered non surgical and are offered as "low risk" procedures done by aesthetic practitioners. These are medically unqualified people. They are not qualified to assess the state of the person's genitals and whether the procedure would cause deficit.
I became desperate in the 18 years I waited for my pelvic organ prolapse to be repaired. I looked into pretty much everything. Many people looking into these "treatments" are desperate because yes, NHS care for women with prolapse, incontinence etc is poor. Anyone with prolapse, continence and associated issues do not need an aesthetic practitioner. They need a urogynaecologist (not just a regular gynaecologist).
Topical oestrogen creams and pessaries are going to generate far better results for vaginal atrophy and dryness associated with ageing and menopause, and these can be prescribed by GPs in most cases.
I honestly think it's irresponsible to suggest these non surgical procedures, provided by non medically trained people in the majority of cases, are going to resolve serious gynaecological problems.
If my strong point of view offends anyone, there's no intention to do so. My POV is from the perspective of someone who has/had such problems and has thoroughly researched everything on offer. I've seen multiple different specialist doctors at some of the best urogynaecology departments and doubt very much that they'd be fobbing me off with surgical procedures if a spot of ultrasound zapping would work instead. |

surely this is going to cause huge problems at a later date. Scar tissue doesn't stretch, especially after menopause (trust me, my episiotomy scar bears that out) this sounds like storing up a whole heap of irreversible trouble ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

Correct and this is exactly why the FDA issued a directive against these types of "therapy". Some women have also been burned or disfigured by repeated application of very cold or very hot or high frequency ultrasound to what is very delicate tissue. |

Blimey!
This is one reason I've never understood the attraction of ice dildos. |

Thanks, the trouble I’m having at the moment is actually being able to get an appointment to see a GP. Currently my UTI has been dealt with by a pharmacist (at the direction of the Dr over the phone to me), only to be told by him I also have glucose in my urine and told to see my GP. Tried to make an appt with my GP this morning (I didn’t even ask for an urgent appt) and was told a Dr would call me back sometime this morning. For what I don’t know. Was just assuming a nurse appt for bloods was needed and take it from there.
Meanwhile my chuff is as dry as sandpaper and sore, I’ve put some avocado oil on there to try and get some comfort. I didn’t tell the Pharmacist this bit in case he wanted a look.
Meanwhile I feel bloody awful. ![](/icons/s/sad.gif) |

Oh you poor thing . Try Yes vaginal moisturiser inside and outside your vagina, you can use this every time you go to the loo if you need to, coconut oil is another good one. Moisturise the entire area. |

Luna, have a look at the YES, YES, YES! range of lubes and moisturisers. You can buy online and they can be prescribed too. They're designed specifically for atrophy and vaginal dryness and are very effective. They're non hormonal, so no oestrogen. Obviously you might still benefit from the oestrogen, if you can get it. |

I mentioned a treatment I know about
, offered by someone who is medically trained which wasn't something the FDA warned about. Like anything else and as I've said before - people must do the research and consult a professional. I absolutely agree with you and if I've said anything that trivialises the issues or misleads, I apologise. |

I was using over the counter vaginal moisturizer or coconut oil but, my oestrogen levels must be low, I definitely needed a hormone moisturiser. Try replense moisturising cream, not Boots own that made me sore. |
