People have made allegations that Glitter had sex with underage girls at after show parties etc.
The prog about Savile suggests that it was when he was at Savile's parties.
If there is a woman who says it happened to her then he will be prosecuted.
If he is sure that the girls were over sixteen or no underage girl comes forward then he can't be proven guilty or in other words he isn't guilty.
I think it's part of the investigation and necessary.
He didn't look too worried when he left his flat at seven this morning... time will tell.

First of many without a doubt. I'm surprised he never got out of the country to be honest, though he seems to be in denial in much the same way Jonathon King was. |

Someone has to prove that the girls he had sex with were underage.
If a girl comes forward and says he had sex with her when she was fourteen and he says he didn't ..... where's the proof ?
A witness ??
I'm serious. HOW is a case going to be proved against him without evidence ? |

Apparently there were 7 opportunities to have prosecuted Savile when he was alive. I reckon they have more evidence than we realise. |

He did run to Vietnam (or was it Thailand?) but got caught over there too, he served time and was then sent back. |

Did he run off to Thailand? Wasn't that where he commmitted offences several years ago? He committed offences there and was sent back I thought. |

The same as in any case like this, which is what makes convictions very difficult but not impossible. |

I don't know, being honest. But in order to charge him they must be confident that they have sufficient evidence to go to court. A lot will only come out in court, if it gets that far, in fear of prejudicing the case. |

With Glitter they will be looking at what in Scotland is the Moorov doctrine, not sure if it's used in England but its usually used in sexual offence cases where it's the offenders word against the complainers but where there are several different complainers giving evidence against the same person and the circumstances, modus operandi etc is so similar they corroborate each other. |

Just read the Guardian report from 2006 about Glitter. He didn't run to Thailand he was over there committing offences and was found guilty and jailed.
No mention of the girls relatives being prosecuted though and these were the women that pimped the children out to Glitter......
mind boggling.... |

Yeah, he was convicted over here, served time and upon release he fled to Thailand and was caught molesting children there too. He served time over there and once released was sent back here. |

speculating about people who have been named in connection to a story in main stream media is not illegal.
I reported my abuse to police as there may have been a connection. Ive just been told my report has been flagged up to the team investigating saville. If my case is connected then there is/was a very large paedo ring operating here. |

This shocks me to the same magnitude as Harold Shipman or Josef Fritzl. The turn of events is equally stunning and barely believable. What I can't believe is how long they were able to blatantly get away with it. As kids these were our heroes and seemed so wonderful. How wrong could we have been. |

I did read last week that those that knew but did nothing would also be criminally investigated.
However will any of those implicated get a fair trial, after all 90 per cent of the population has decided who is guilty already. Sadly the idea of a jury of your peers is severly flawed. Although it seems even worse in America so hey ho. Just my 2ps worth. |

people keep asking why no one came forward at the time or waited till saville died. It is common to all sex abuse victims that they perceive they wont be believed. It is doubly so if the abuser is a celebrity or someone important.Predetory paedo's are masters at manipulation and picking victims who are vulnerable. They also make the victim believe they are somehow complicit and equally guilty of wrong doing. It can take many years before a victim realises this isnt the case, and then perhaps they feel it is to late. It is also very common for people around an abuser and victim that they go into a state of disbelief or denial about what is going on. Saville is a perfect example of that he had the whole country doing that. |

Lets finish this admittedly awful thread in the true British style with a joke now doing the rounds.....
Many years ago Tony Blackburn was invited to a wild pool party. He took along his pals Glitter and Saville.
When he arrived at the house with his mates, the host opened the door looked them up and down and said to Blackburn : "You deaf bastard: I told you to bring a pair of Speedo's!"
Thank you and good night..... |

""(Wilfred)Brambell was homosexual[6][7] at a time when it was almost impossible for public figures to be openly gay, not least because male homosexual acts were illegal in the UK until 1967. In 1962 he was arrested in a toilet in Shepherd's Bush for persistently importuning and given a conditional discharge.[8][9] Earlier in his life he had been married, from 1948 to 1955, to Mary "Molly" Josephine but the relationship ended after she gave birth to the child of their lodger in 1953.[7] In 2012 he was accused of abusing in the 1970s two boys aged 12-13 backstage in the Jersey Opera House. One of the boys was from the Haut de la Garenne children's home.[10]
Brambell died of cancer in Westminster,[11] London, aged 72. He was cremated on 25 January 1985 at Streatham Park Cemetery, where his ashes were scattered."" (wiki)
He was arrested 2 or 3 times for picking up rent boys. I wasn't aware of the bit about Haut de la Garenne though...

As far as what Bramble did otherwise, I can remember my parents making 'comments' watching Steptoe and Son in the early 70's, but as I was only about 9 or 10, I didn't cotton on to what they were hinting at, but it was (fairly) common knowledge even then.

Listening to the radio today - it seems that a team of legal experts are trawling social networking sites looking for anyone who (wrongly) named a senior conservative figure as being involved in the abuse of children. Any who did post comments of this nature may now be pursued through the courts for compensation!
So all, please be careful when putting someone's name into the public domain - because if they are not guilty, or found to be guilty by a court of law - YOU may find yourself in court!

This site is well down on the z-list of sites legal moles search for defamatory material against their clients. It's far easier to search a major site like Facebook or twitter, and on those sites there is rarely a contention over whether someone is using their real name or not. Facebook relies upon people using their real identity or it becomes rather pointless using it (unless a user's intent is to troll) and Twitter relies upon building up a community of followers which is pretty hard to do if you keep changing your username.
This site is a threat to nobody famous unless they are swingers and don't want it publicly known. I wish Admin would realise this and realise they're not about to be hauled up in court because the reality is that nobody but us really cares what a small bunch of swingers have to say about anything or anyone.
(I'd include all the Sydney University warners in this too. Just you try suing Sydney University for nicking the blurred image of your twat, or a close up of MonsterCock, or CreamPieFanny's latest upload.) |

"Don't be lulled into a false sense of security Wishy, just because your name isn't your real name it doesn't mean you can't be traced.
We all leave a trace when using the net, and if we break the law doing that then we can get hauled up for it.
I know Ruggers. All ISPs have to keep a record of who was using which IP address and when etc. but in the context of what we're talking about I don't think we'll be seeing MI5 knocking on the door anytime soon. "
If you blabbed about what they are talking about they well might be knocking soon |

"Freddy Starr should be shot innocent or guilty ... creepy little violent unfunny bullying d*unk inept little shit."
He was too quick to become the victim. Then he blamed his state on the stress of it all. I'd blame the bottle of whisky and 70 fags a day for that! |

So he chose to be accused of something that had no foundation just so he could enjoy being a victim?
I don't like the man but I wouldn't wish what these innocent celebrities have been through on my worse enemy
The anonymity laws in this country need to be changed to protect all parties and not just the accusers

I agree. As it stands, a reputation can be dragged through the mud. Although libel is actionable, just reporting that someone has been taken away for questioning is enough to get most people going. |

didnt realise you knew him personally to make such a personal attack on him, he is not my cup of tea however we still follow the principles of law which is innocent until proven guilty although some tabloids are dead against it. |
