Judges have decided that flapjacks are sweets and not cakes. Sweets?! Because you wouldn't have a flapjack for afternoon tea. I would. And flapjacks wouldn't be eaten at a party. I would, and I have. This is oaterly ridiculous.

It's all over the news.

Well perhaps we wait for the court of appeal to see what they have to say. Meanehile I am not getting in a flap and continue to eat them as and when I like from the local Cake and Sweet shop (I know, there is always a maverick out there).

Ah but Jim it's only one specific flapjack company. They put loads of extras in their flapjacks so they're more like cereal bars. Traditional flapjacks are safe. No need to flap, keep calm and carry on

You wouldn't have Partridge or Venison for afternoon tea. Therefore do we call them sweets too?

My Nan used to make and serve flapjacks at tea, along with lemon drizzle cake, batten burg and trifle.

So it's one rule for one flapjack, and another for another flapjack?

What's Essex like this time of year? Good for cycling?
