... in finding the news about my workplace's imminent closure in Dec 2011 rather uplifting?
It was as if a dark cloud had been lifted over the entire plant, as there had been 2 rounds of redundancies since Feb 09!
For me personally, I have decided to stay until the dying end, as it will be fun, and I'll get an enhanced redundancy package, and I am going engineer getting myself another job within the company in another location, hopefully France, where I want to retire! |

i remember very well when the same happened in my workplace in 2003. when the announcement was made that all the jobs were moving to Edinburgh from Glasgow i was delighted as it entitled me to a generous package.....and i could start afresh. However......if the company deploy you to another workplace ie hopefully france then i would imagine that there has to be a break in service before you can be employed again following redundancy. in the company i worked for you were unable to work for them again for 2 years.
hope it all goes well....sounds good. |

"I'd love to retire to another country
We'd love to retire to our own desert island, problem is, we'd be the only two swingers on it "
Then you have to hold weekend parites - just for company of course |
