What smell reminds you of your childhood?

For me it's freshly cooked pancakes, reminds me of my granny every Sunday making batches of them and scones x

South Wales

Tomatoes growing in a greenhouse smell and that smell you get when brewing your own wine, they remind me of my Grampy.

That Hairdressers hairspray smell you get in a salon reminds me of being sat on my nans lap as a kid, cuddled in, as she sat under the dryer.

Happy times

The ice cream factory behind my Grannie's in Huntly.

The smell of real vanilla, strawberry or chocolate just takes me back.

Also the tea roses in her garden

"The chlorine in swimming pools."

Oh yes and this. Our little village school had a swimming pool and the teachers who used to live by the school would open it up in the holidays for us to use. It was such a fabulous primary school!

Irn bru, printers ink, cakes & bread baking, fresh home grown produce, tomatoes, peas in their pods, strawberries & mint - all memories of times with grandparents at their homes.

Creosote.

My Dad always had some in his garage for doing the fences and it always made the whole place smell. Love the smell.

Tea and toast there was always a brw on and toast cooking at my grandads.

And bleach at my nans, where she used to work they scrubbed down the machines each day with them so she'd smell of it when she came in.

La la land

Farm yard smells, not always the bad ones such as slurry, bad sillage and damp sheep. Smelling of horse or dog, hay and just countryside and fresh air.

A world all of his own

"That" smell as you walk into a forest, when all the pollution and crap in the air falls away.

Was lucky enough to grow up with Epping forest almost on our doorstep so spent most of my school holidays exploring it with mates.
