Bore da dear Friends Fabbers and Forumites.
Well yestwrday everyone joined in sharing the positives and love.
It was rather spiffing to see

Now a slightly differnt slant
They fo say to love others you have to first love yourself . It doesn't have to be in an egotistical way . Just showing yourself some kindness
Be as compassionate with your self as you are with others.
So please say something positive about yourself
It could be
I am a nice person
I have lovely hair
Or even naughty ones ha ha
Nice boobies or a large widgie
Have an amazing day , you are the best you there will ever be

I'm just me , I dont point out my good points , that's for others to do if they wish as I just see myself as a honest , normal guy , if I was to point out something it would be my honesty I guess |

10 years ago I had a conversation with a woman about my low self esteem. I couldn't list more than 2 good traits about myself.
It was a shock.
Since then I have had 5 years of therapy and I see myself more clearly.
I know I'm a good husband and a good parent. These are the most important things I can say about myself

An Irish guy I was working with once took me out for a drink because ‘I looked miserable’. Think it was his excuse to get a pint
I told him I was fed up of the shit I was going through at the time and especially the people who were causing it.
He told me stop focusing on those who dislike you and start recognising that those who did like me are pretty decent people. When I thought about the differences between the two sets of people I started to understand. The friends I had were funny, intelligent and shared a same set of beliefs. Including this Irish guy in front of me who had empathy, quite clearly saw I was having a hard time so stepped up and tried to help.
Never forget if your friends and family are similar to yourself and you recognise those positive attributes, then they will see the same in you.
(Admittedly if all your friends are wankers …   )  |
