I was listening to a Bruce Springsteen album today, and Mary popped up in three of the songs.

It got me thinking, just how many songs does Mary appear in?

So go on, list 'em

I think there's a song by Pearl Jam called something like Crazy Mary... not heard it in a long time.

Megadeth did one called May Jane too, as did Alanis Morrisette.

Crazy Mary by Pearl Jam was a cover of the Victoria Williams tune on a great tribute album from donkeys years ago

Most songs that refer to Mary Jane aren't talking about a girl

Mary, Spanish Johnny, Eddie and the Magic Rat were recurring characters in quite a few old Springsteen tunes.

Geekboy will take his gramophone player home now !

A great couple of lines from Crazy Mary...

"Little country store with a sign tacked to the side

Said "No L-O-I-T-E-R-I-N-G allowed"

Underneath that sign always congregated quite a crowd"
