Been single since last June since ex of 8 yrs left.
Joined back on fab last august and the joined dating sites over month ago.
I chat ppl on here and forums but never seem get meets although it’s nice get used speaking to ppl again esp as I get shy and nervous speaking to new ppl.
Well lady spoken for few weeks asked me out for date so have first one tomorrow and feeling excited to be out with someone not my parents lol and nervous as first date or social meet had one yr since single or even 9 yrs since I was last single lol

Good luck I went on quite a few dates after the Pandemic. It’s a lot of fun if you’re compatible.
If not then be honest and after coffee or some other drink, thank them for their time and go.
I did a couple of times.  |

I've been on a number of dates with various ladies since becoming single, each and every time I was a complete bag of nerves, I found it much harder than when I've met people from fab strangely lol |

Just chill and go with the flow. She asked you so she must like you. Dress in what you feel comfortable in and you’ll feel more confident (and come across more authentic). If you’re nervous - tell her! Make a joke of it. She’s probably feeling exactly the same.

Be yourself, relax, be interested, and don't over-think it.
If you've been chatting for a few weeks you'll have a good idea of what you have in common and what's she's like, and now you get the fun part of doing it on person rather than email/text.

Aww OP this is such a lovely thread and I hope that you have a great first date.
Set aside any pressures or worries and just focus on enjoying the company of another person for a few hours. Whether it leads to a second date is irrelevant right now, so go have a nice time and enjoy finding out about a new person whilst they find out about you.

Just be yourself OP. And wear what you feel comfortable in...smart casual. Don't pretend to be something you're not as they clearly like you for who you are or wouldn't agree to meet you |

Yeah was nice and strange felt normal which is crazy as how nervous felt but as other said she asked me and chatted for while so was nice as didn’t feel awkward.
Still felt odd later cos didn’t think I’d be back in pool of daters this time last yr before ex walked out lol but hey ho

I have a great friend who has told me in no uncertain terms that a date is the last thing l want cause it would put me under severe pressure straight away and the thing is ..he is absolutely right ..l would'nt know what to wear ..so dating for me is out unless l met someone who let me be me . |
