If you had your ashes buried and a tree planted what would you opt for?

Me - oak.

None, I wouldn’t want people to grieve a second time if the tree snuffed it too

Then there’s the issue of what happens to the tree if it’s in someone’s garden and then they move - or fall out with other family members who can’t go visit the tree

Way too complex with never ending variables

My husband chose a silver birch in the hope magic mushrooms would grow but it wasn't his ashes, he was buried in a wicker coffin

I'd be a willow tree, beautiful but can hide a lot of things... Kinda like me wearing a hoodie, a safety net for your anxieties

Newry Down

Jargonelle Pear

A very early pear that is thousands of years old.

The fruit must be eaten from the tree, it cannot be stored, and I have one growing in my garden that is about 10 years old.

Very rare; great taste.

Yew, very long lived and mostly toxic. It would seem a fitting epitaph.

Slightly different to other choices...I'd rather be a hedge so birds could nest in me.
