Its going to kill me but I'm giving up coffee, caffeine has a terrible affect on me, have decided decaf isn't an option as still small amount of caffeine in it. But gees I wasn't prepared for the withdrawal symptoms, headaches, very low mood, off my food, no energy, so sleepy. Apparently lasts up to 9 days.
Anyone else been through this? A d did you feel the benefit afterwards? |

"Tried decaf for a day
Went back to coffee.
But moderate it to only working hours and two a day. Though, by shit is super strong."
I don't know if I'm just super sensitive to caffeine but I find that I crave it and it feels like a genuine addiction. But in a negative way. So no more |

"I’ve not had caffeinated tea or coffee or fizzy drinks in just over a year and it’s so wonderful. I have actually had about 5 caffeinated drinks in this time and every time I do I’m literally shaking it’s so weird. I’d never go back. I enjoy the taste of tea and coffee so just buy decaf or drink naturally decaf teas instead.
I wish you luck on this journey OP "
Thank you |

Yeah been through this a few times.
You think your fine without her, then you have a bad day, decide to have a drink or two, and then it's the whole bottle, next thing you know you wake up in the morning and there she is in your arms again. |

"Jesus, I dunno what I'd do without coffee "
If Jesus drank coffee things could’ve ended very differently. Only tea drinkers sit around waiting for the Romans. |

I am horribly insomniac, so I gave up all caffeine for a couple of years in my 20s. No tea, coffee, chocolate, cola.
I didn't have huge withdrawal from it, but it turns out I'm not particularly sensitive to caffeine so it didn't help with my sleep and going back to drinking coffee again didn't have any detrimental impact on my sleep patterns.
I hope you get through this phase and start feeling normal again quickly! |

"I'm a weirdo. Caffeine seems to have no effect. I drink coffee then go straight to bed and sleep."
I'm the same.
I sometimes feel a little sad when people talk about a coffee buzz as I don't get them either |

Yup. It’s all to be expected but give it 3days and you’ll be right again. |

Never drank coffee so l don't know about it but water is brilliant though l know people say you have to drink a certain amount l only drink it when lm thirsty..but l totally love it , try eating foods that give energy too ,maybe a bit of porridge in the morning , slow releasing energy , to substitute them for coffee , it will take a while but ya gotta start somewhere. |

Yep, definitely no buzz here from caffeine. I don't get a buzz off any other substance either, such as alcohol. Maybe we lack some enzymes somewhere? |

"I've never drank it. Or tea. Couldn't stand the smell. Hot chocolate is a different matter (currently contemplating a velvetiser from hotel chocolat) "
Don't do it! They are addictive!
(I'm joking, buy one lol) |

Me three.
I had covid in Jan 2021 and went from 8 mugs of coffee a day to zero for a week because the taste was so vile. No withdrawal or craving.
How are you doing OP? What strategies have you got? |

Have a double gin chaser after each coffee, you’ll soon forget the effects caffeine has on you.. |

"Good luck, drink loads of water as it may help with the headaches and lethargy.
It's like coffee, but without the beans "
Yeah I've been doing that. Hopefully just another few days and that will be me. |

GONE/TIMEOUT (No DMs please) |
Perhaps I should give it up too.
I'm lying in bed in the dark, with a mug of strong coffee resting on my chest..not healthy before sleep.
(Yes I've waterboarded myself by nodding off before now, and yes I've also slept all night and woken having not spilled a drop!) |

"Remind me never to give up coffee. Don't know what I'd do without it x
Sleep more probably"
Maybe but I only have two coffees a day. I haven't slept well for over a year so I know it's got nothing to do with the coffee as I don't take any after 5pm x |
