I like to workout and I go to the gym to workout 3 times a week doing a full body workout, well not the gym as I am training at home and my favourite exercise is the shoulder press, not just that I also do yoga and lots of cardio as well |

I aim for 6 days a week now.
Sometimes I miss a day or two but no less than 5.
I spent 18 months too injured to train so I’m playing catch up.
Once I’m where I need to be I’ll drop to 4 times a week probably. |

5 or 6 days a week. I do Push, Pull, Legs but thinking of decreasing to about 4 days a week with more emphasis on cardio remain lean but not sure if that would affect muscle growth. My favourite exercises are squats and Romanian deadlifts |

6 days - a combination of pilates, HIIT, cycling, running and swimming. I started using the free weights but I don't make progress quickly so I get bored. |

"4-6 times a week full body each time
Then 45-60 hours a week in a very physical job
My food bill is silly "
If you’re doing six days a week full body surely that doesn’t allow adequate recovery time for each muscle group? Don’t you end up over trained? I would..then again I’m an old git |

Not if you split volume up properly.
For example someone might do chest day on a Monday and do 4-6 different chest exercises. I just split them up through out the week
Full body doesn’t always mean brutally kill your entire body.
Last nights session was
Squats
Over head press
Pull down
Chest flies
Leg extensions
Triceps |

It used to be 6 but my gym moved and times had to change so am down to 3 minimum now to make sure I get to squat bench and deadlift.
There's a gym I can use at work so might start using that on days I can't get to my normal gym but it's not the same! Plus I hate working out on my own. |

From June to December I work out 5/6 times a week. January to May I don't have the time due to exceptionally heavy work commitments. Problem is I loose my fitness and the weight goes back on when I'm not working out so I'm stuck in a vicious circle.

In the winter I swim a mile 2-3 times a week, I don't during the summer as my work gets very phyisical.
I do Yoga all year round. If my weight gets to 65kg, I keep an eye on what I'm eating. |

0 at the gym. Can't stand the places.
Used to switch between running and yoga everyday, but been a bit lethargic since I got hit with covid and not got back into it.
Been doing an hour long session in VR (Beat Saber with wrist weights on) most nights. I guess that counts? |

Used to 3 times per week before the March 2020 lockdown killed my routine off.
Can’t be arsed at the moment. I should be, given I’m overweight, but simply not interested. |

I run 4/5 times a week now. Sometimes on the treadmill at home and sometimes outside. I had a long recovery from an ankle injury so loving being able to run again.
I was rowing twice a week too but have an elbow injury that no one seems to be able to fix so have had to stop that for now. |

"I walk 10k steps 5 times a week, I do yoga once a week and I teach dance for 2/3hrs twice a week. I’ve always been pretty active and I feel out of sorts if I don’t exercise xx"
I'm the same, it's why I work out after work, otherwise I find I just hold onto that tension |

Squats and deadlifts on the same day. You’re a better man than me. Last time I did that my central nervous system was a wreck. |

Anyone heard of Starting Strength? I’ve (Harry) have been doing CrossFit of late but am keen to maybe ditch it in favour of lifting.
Is Starting Strength a good program to follow for the lifting newb? |

Traditionally 4 times a week. Anywhere between 30 and 50 minutes of HIIT workouts and core stability across the week and the refereeing on Saturdays and coaching kids rugby on a Sunday.
Do as much as you enjoy and give yourself realistic and achievable goals |

It’s fascinating and heartening to hear how many others also use the gym to keep them mentally as well as physically fit.
Big hug to everyone using the gym or sports to support their mental health. |

Cycling three or four times a week, a couple of hours a time in pretty hilly terrain. And lots of aerobic exercise thanks to music-making. Gym? Not for me. The "motivational" background noise is annoying for a start, and all that posing... |

never as such , the best form or working out is walking fast apparrently
so they say a regular walker walking fast /very fast will live on average 14 years longer and look similar at an older age.
was a documentary on tele recently, not made up. |

Metabolic conditioning twice a week, weight lifting three times a week, Krav and either MMA or boxing once a week each, core work twice a week, ultramarathon every six weeks and power walk at least an hour every day. Active recovery on the seventh day.
My abiding love of cookies is what keeps me so fantastically flabby |

You need to balance volume and intensity over the session, figure out your maximum recoverable volume between sessions and consider accumulated fatigue over the long term which impacts your peak strength and is a function of intensity, volume and MRV.
Everyone is different but I follow the below and works well for all lifts
Maximum 10 reps over minimum of 2 sets above 90%, followed by maximum 20 reps over a minimum of 3 sets between 70%-90%
All speed work is 8 sets of 3 reps at 60%-70% of last predicted max looking to up weight while maintaining speed.
Assistance work 3 exercises, 3 sets in rep ranges of 8-15 looking to go to within a couple of reps of failure for each set.

So I used to do Yoga 3 times a week + 1 hour of Pole
Nothing else
Now I’m getting back to it all, as had to take a break so hopefully do yoga twice a week, Pole once a week.
And squats daily … about 15-20 mins and walk loads x that’s me done |

I've worked out that I don't have the inclination to do physical exercise. Although I've been a gym rat in the past I've got a physical job and if I don't burn the energy off somehow I go spare. In the meantime I get paid to go to the gym. |

Whenever it feels right , l never have a set plan , always listen to the body , and it's always own body weight exercises , never been in a gym never will be in one it's just not for me ,l give my body a proper workout and also give it time to recover but l get it that everyone is different, but never forget your mind and body get you through everyday so be kind to them both ..always |

A bit piecemeal at the minute. Got lazy socialising and drinking over winter. Just occasional light weights and some jogging.
Need to start doing at least one decent session a week and start working up from there again. |
