My preference for politics doesn't come into it as I find all the parties despicable same as the ones who back only the party and not their own values.

Personally, I’m being serious for a moment, I genuinely do talk about things like race and other ‘woke’ topics way too much to pretend that I could have regular encounters with people that didn’t have similar outlooks on those things to me. Why must the left always be so vociferously vocal in their opinion? My preference is to keep political threads in the politics segment. It’s why there is one. There’s just no passing by the endless lefty whinging of some people without being smacked by their opinion at the next turn.

I wouldn’t know if I were meeting a Tory but I can see I’d hear the loutish left coming from miles out irrespective of my lack of interest in their political views.

Most of us are considered, kind, compassionate and avoid the subjects of politics and religion when in polite company. Nobody has ever called me a lout thank you very much.

As I've said..."wildly generalising" theme of the thread. A Tory isn't at all like some of those portrayed by the left, are they and yet......
