My faith in humanity is restored thanks to my recent Fabs experience

London but travel

So, I'm in Malaga; I came here with my young son. Unfortunately he was playing up at Malaga airport and in the fuss I lost my phone, all my credit cards and money. I got to the hotel (had a booked transfer) and hadn't paid yet for my self catering apartment and I couldn't pay as I had no money or cards. I've stayed at this hotel before and they could see me stressed out with my son so gave me a nights grace to sort something out. There was no point anyone transferring me money because I had no cards to access it and the nearest branch of my bank is in another city. I had no money for food either, I can easily not eat but my son can't! Anyway, my partner longhairedlover69 who happened to be also going on holiday with his kids was able to email certain documents and paid the hotel bill for me. I'll pay him back when I'm home. But I was still not able to access any money for food or anything else. Then I put a plea on Fabs as a status update and lots of people nearby offered to help. One local fabber drove to my hotel and brought me bags and bags of groceries and another drove to my hotel and lent me some money which I'll be paying him back as soon as I'm home. I don't know these 2 men at all, they helped me out of the goodness of their heart with nothing (sexual or otherwise) expected in return. And because of them, I have actually been able to have a fun holiday with my son. Their kindness actually brings tears to my eyes.

Yes, it's easy to forget with some of the messages you get, but literally don't know what I would have done without the help of people on here

I like to think so too,but it is so heartwarming to see the lengths these guys went to.

Faith in human nature restored for tonight at least. Thank you for sharing such a positive story.

I came across something similar about 3 years ago.

A woman had gone to a tyre replacement centre but when their engineers took the wheels off, they noticed that the brakes were faulty. So bad, that they couldn't let the car go back on the road. I was sat in reception overhearing the conversation. The woman was distraught. It turns out that she had only recently purchased the car from a garage I knew had a bad reputation.

They rang the garage as the car was still under warranty but he refused to send a breakdown truck to bring the car back. The manager at the tyre company called a friend who ran his own recovery business and arranged to have the car taken back at no cost. She just didnt have any money.

When I went to pay for my tyres, I gave them some money due to their kindness they had shown for their Christmas party.

Just a real shame that a lot of this has gone out of our society's now. And thankfully there are still kind hearted and trusting people out there. I am lucky to have a job where I am able to do this nearly on a daily basis money not always involved
