What age did you get

"3, I think. I’m impatient."
One of my siblings had it before they were a year old. To this day they love the smell of the common lotion used at that time.
I don't know how I escaped, but I then got vaccinated. Best little pricks ever. |

I was about 7 or 8. My sister and baby brother got it and my mums friend brought her baby round so he’d get it. Apparently this used to be a thing, because they thought if you got it when you were really young, it wasn’t as bad. That poor little boy had it all over, in his eyes, in his mouth and other nasty places. Not what his mother had intended.
Also my cousin got it in his early thirties and had to be rushed in a helicopter to a specialist hospital. His heart stopped twice on the way and he was in a coma for weeks. Ten years later he is still suffering. Had to have two hip replacements and more recently his knees. Terrible back troubles too. I never knew chickenpox could be so dangerous for adults. I heard it could turn to shingles but this was ‘just’ chickenpox. It got in his lungs and other internal places. |

I think I was 1 or 2. Young enough not to scratch the spots. As far as I know we all got it at the same time and my sister did scratch hers, including one on her chest, so my mum still jokes she has a third nipple.
My kids had it separately age 2, 1 1/2 and about 10 months. We were lucky as none of them had it bad at all. |

Blimey. I know it can be bad in adults. I had to be knocked out for a week to get through my outbreak. |

I had chicken pox on holiday . My parents took us back to the same place the next year to make up for it as it ruined it for my mum too as she had to stay in with me. |

Same here too "
Think I am too. One of my children didn't get chicken pox when the others had it but has had shingles twice. |

land of make believe |
I have had it 3 times, which I thought was improbable. Once when I was 22 and had 2 babies to look after.they had it first with a combination of 4 spots between them and then I was really ill.
