Had.

Took me years to get all the companies to stop calling it by the stupid old name.

The only one that still does is the council and I've given up telling them

Yes, but not saying what in here, as it's the only house in the country with this name.

Ours was the corner cottage. It's the cottage on the corner. Except it's on of those 60's built annoying faux cottages, complete with decorative beams. We took the sign down.

Also to me having a house name is à la having a personalised number plate. I don't know why but it just really irritates me!

Yes it does otherwise no one would be able to find it as it can't have a number. Can't say what it's called for obvious reasons.

Vis top tip: Names the house “number twenty two”. Actual house number is very different . Confuses the fuck of of the postman. Helps cut down on the junk mail .

Genuis!

I once lived on a street in London where we were no. 800 and it went into four figures.

Imagine the fucking nightmare a postie would have had if they all had names instead of numbers?

For years I worked in Hotels and had Live-In accommodation with each role. Mail would get sent to the hotel.

One bank thought I owned each place!!

Mine has a name, it's how I bought it. A number isn't an option, as none of the houses around me have a number to follow on from.

It does!

But there is not the remotest possibility that I would disclose its name in this, or any other site

It is my haven of security peace and quietude that I would not tolerate being disrupted in any way, ever

Over the years I have lived in some awful places

In one place, decades ago my nightmares neighbours had a fondness for a game: Russian roulette with a 357 Magnum revolver that did not work out well.
