"I've never put Easter decorations up but it sounds like a lovely idea. What do you put up Shag?" Yes it is, just some basic things, like easter chicks here and there and some eggs too and some artificial leaves that we put up in different colours like blue and pink, it is fun |

"It's becoming more and more like Christmas.
Shame on you! You went with that when you could have said
"it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" "
Damn it, missed a trick there. I'll wait for the same thread next year. |

I might do something this year. I feel a celebration of spring, rebirth and new life is in order.
Thanks Shag, you've cheered me up |

Started putting up stuff when the kids were wee. Still do now. Kept a lot of their wee paintings and decorations and their Easter bonnets. Will put them up during the week. |

I prefer the mental image with coloured tissue paper and little chicks so I’m keeping it. |

"Shouldnt we all wear black if its about death"
New life man, the cycle starting again, knowing it's not going to be forever and that makes it all the more special, cause it will begin again!
I think wearing black is a great idea |

I'm not Christian so I won't be celebrating Christ's resurrection but I will celebrate the spirit of the festival |

"We like the festive periods and we always start doing it early, we are putting it up today "
Why don't you just leave the Christmas tree up all year and just refresh the decorations for each holiday?

Easter decorations? The whole thing is to celebrate a myth about some fictional demigod who pissed off the Romans and got crucified, albeit at odds to the normal way of crucifying people which was on an x-shaped cross upside down and tied rather than nailed.
Can't think what kind of decorations you'd put up for that |

During the first lockdown I made a giant wooden cut out of the Easter bunny to put out in the front garden as part of the villages lockdown Easter egg hunt/walk. He went down a treat so will put him out again for the kids to see as they walk past. |

There are lots of wonderful Easter traditions that are celebrated around the world from special easter dishes, spit roast lamb, cakes and sweets to painted eggs and other easter decorations, Easter bread, midnight candlelit parades and Easter carol singing. It's only in the last few years that a few of these, particularly decorations, have appeared here but Easter is celebrated widely in lots of other countries and sometimes more than Xmas. I spent Easter a couple of times abroad and amongst these celebrations and a lovely time it was too |

It has been for some people for long time but more widely adopted recently. I never go overboard with it but like a few bits to brighten up the place, not forgetting a good roast, Easter eggs and speciality cakes |

Never decorated at Easter, eck we don’t even buy Easter eggs.
Always been a family time, good food & laughter for four days, the only Easter thing is hot cross buns on Friday and Sunday roast is always lamb. |
