It was the (very) English take on Playboy’s”Swing”
We really enjoyed it. The second couple were in the best mindspace for it. But it shows how the unexpected emotions could just be a temporary blip overcome with communication
Props to all those playing and those in production.
Can’t wait for the next ep. |

Bag of shite, staged, production team led, standard reality TV fodder that's about as unrepresentative of swinging and open relationships as it could possibly get.
Almost, by a slim, razor thin margin, as bad as 'Dogging Tales'.....

We only watched a little so can't comment on the whole show. What made us turn over were some of the initial comments that seemed to imply that "modern relationships" were somehow different, the youth of the participants, the fact that the woman chosen to join a couple was described as a resident (what on earth was that implying?), the skip of a guy from wanting to end his relationship with his girlfriend because his fantasy of watching her with another woman made him feel left out to wanting to give it a go and the ethics of the "expert" they'd chatted to before who didn't on seeing that they were so young and new to it all at least talk them through what to expect and boundaries to put in place to name but a few.
It seemed to me at least to be an excuse to show soft porn rather than have any serious intent to inform and advise.

It was almost as believable as the idea of people falling madly in love with someone they've just met in an artificially constructed environment, before falling out due to production team/other resident interference, who then find a new 'love of my life' a day or two later just so they don't get evicted from an island, their holiday comes to an end and they have to go back to obscurity and their old day job.
Or am I being too cynical.....

Not cynical enough I fear. I haven't seen Love Island of that's the show you're referring to, I'm fairly certain I'm not their target audience. It became abundantly clear last night that this show wasn't aimed at me either |
