North Bucks

I’m always on the lookout for wild garlic. I’m walking the coastal path today in Norfolk so will be on the lookout for some as it’s quite woody round the Holkham area.

Aside from sloes and blackberries that’s the only stuff I know to forage.

.

Yes! Wild garlic is amazing in risotto or cheese scones. Damsons are brilliant as a gin or jam. Elderflower for cordial, sloes for gin...

Hope you have a good forage OP.

We never have but every year we have a favourite walk we like to do several times while the wild garlic is in flower - its beautiful.

London/ South West (Devon, Somerset).

Should be lots of wild garlic flowers coming soon. I’d have thought it might be a bit early for most other things. Don’t be eating toadstools!

I’d love to go coastal foraging. I don’t eat seafood but I’d love to look for it.

I watch a YouTube channel who does this.

We found stacks of wild garlic, turkey tail mushrooms, sticky Willie's, King Alfred's cake mushrooms and nettles for tea.

I didn't pick the nettles as no gloves.

Not sure what to make with all the garlic and mushrooms. Maybe some kind of sauce.

Sounds lovely - and a great day to be out in the woods too.

Cheeseville, Somerset

I used to forage in woods and hedgerows as a teen.

All I ever found was soggy old jazz mags.
