"Secure a permanent job, fed up with temp jobs
And to get my flat decorated, that is not going to well. "
Good luck with the job hunting.
Been trying to get our house decorated but working from home for the last 2yrs makes it difficult.

"200kg deadlift and 150kg squat. I’m miles away from both but I will do it by the end of the year.
Coincidentally. I have the exact same targets. "
Deadlift is more of a stretch than the squat for me at the minute but I will get there. |

My next targets too! I'm nearer the squat target, but will get there (and DL moving smoothly over last few weeks). I take a tortoise over hare approach with the numbers, and just make sure I'm consistent... |

I have to finish an NVQ in childcare for work, which I'm finding tough.
Lose a little weight & try to regularly exercise.
Make my time off more fulfilling- I struggle to do anything & often just sit around on my own too much |

"Do you have something you are aiming for this year?
My target is to have a helicopter ride.
Never been in one before.
Doesnt look too expensive and its achivable. "
Plan B. Injure yourself really really badly in an obscure way, and get a ride for free in an Air Ambulance! ??

Only ride in a helicopter if it has come to save your life.
Their safety record isn't as impressive as fixed wing! |

Steady. I use to do 250.....injured myself badly.....the snap of a muscle is fucking painful "
I took a year off from deadlifting after an injury so I’m being extra careful this time. I’m at 175kg now so I’m just slowly adding small increments rather than pushing myself too far. |

My squat is currently at 135x5 so 150 isn’t too far away but I can’t afford to get injured so have to be extremely careful when adding weight. |

Good. Never go too many times either. I use to go 6 times a week. Just knackers your body |

I am guilty of that. I need to take more proper rest days. The ones I get now are because I’m hungover. |

I'm told three is enough. Burst my calf earlier in the year, from an older injury. That's my gym years well and truly done |

You should smoke 150kg if you can do 135kg x 5 |

For me I guess it’s the continuing happiness/welfare of my family - and now the kids are almost grown up - hopefully being able to focus more on my own health, wealth and happiness too. I have little in savings and no pension - so that needs to be a focus between now and retirement - as well as the rather great friendships I have - both platonic and otherwise. |

I’m too scared to try it. The last thing I need is to be folded in half. |

You won't fold in half.
It's not a massive jump in weight.
Just be positive go 135,140,145 one week, then next week go 142.5, 150.
Visualise the lift and be confident. That's half the battle with lifting a weight you haven't before. |

I just went for it today and managed 150x1. My knees buckled a tiny bit but I still think I could have done maybe 2.5-5kg more. Thanks for the words of encouragement and I guess my new target can be 170kg by the end of the year. |
