My first tattoo was on my left foot it is a Polynesian design of a swallow with my mum and sisters initials inside the design, a swallow can symbolise a love for family which is why I choose it. I’ve had a further 6 since so it definitely didn’t put me off xx |

My first one was about 35 years ago. A small rose on my upper arm. People used to comment on it and even try to wipe it off like they didn’t believe it was real. They weren’t as commonplace back then especially on women. I have had a few more including larger cover ups on that original little rose. |

"Straight in to the deep end
One off the sorest places stomach
Only thing about that was it makes most other places a walk in the park "
Totally agree! most painful tattoo i had is the one around my belly button, It's physically impossible to relax as you have to tense your stomach muscles all the time while being tattooed, difficult not to flinch every time the tattoo machine makes contact with skin |

My first one was a compass on my forearm on my 18th birthday. I think I got it for some deep reason about giving direction but had to get it redone after the tattoo artist completely fucked it up (he didn’t charge me it was that bad). |

Got my 1st at the age of 50 as a promise to my late sister who passed, we had both said that we would get a tattoo when we turned 50 but she died 4 months before it could happen, 2nd tattoo was also a tribute to my granddaughter who was murdered , I git the tattoo artist to incorporate them both being in heaven and looking Iver my shoulder.
Jane's 1st tattoo on her leg was in her native Poland at the age of 18, cost her around £200 and took 4 months to complete.
We love our tattoos and have plans for more. |

A lion, tribal style. Designed myself, and has llyw hidden in the mane, which is a welsh pun on lion and leader (I think).
I got it a) to cover some skin discoloration I wasn't confident with and 2) coz I wanted a tat
Is now part of a two piece set with a dragon. |

I was travelling around Alaksa and saw an exhibition of modern native alaskan artists - snapped a pic of one of the paintings that caught my eye and showed it to a tattoo artist friend of mine as I thought it would make a nice addition to his repertoire - he agreed but insisted that he put it on me first.
Google "Danny Dennis Salmon" for a pic |

Got the Everton motto first, then my kids names in Ogham, then my wedding date in Roman numerals. They mean absolutely nothing to anyone other than myself and my family. Thinking of getting a flower tattoo in remembrance of my dad, possibly a lily design, not yet decided. |

My first was a unicorn which I had done aged 18. It doesn’t have any meaning, I just liked it. My husband had his first about six months ago, along with me having my most recent. We lost our beloved cat in August and had tattoos of her paw print, with a little of her ashes in the ink. Mine is on my shoulder, she loved to be draped over there for cuddles and would stay there for hours. His is on his upper arm where she would rest her paw while sleeping next to him in bed |

First was a chrysanthemum flower over a black squiggle/tribal type design. Still have it, although it's difficult to make out now. May get it covered at some point.
Have 10 so far but I count 3 small ones on my wrist individually as u got them at separate times. You can barely see a small pink star o got many years ago now.
Last one I got was a geisha on my right thigh. I'm looking to get an underboob one done for this year's ' treat yoself' day around my birthday.
I also have long standing plans to get a Mickey mouse spoon tattooed on me but it's such a personal tattoo that I'm struggling to find the right artist to trust to do it. |

My tramp stamp. Because I was young, it was the 90s and it was the in thing. Yes and I've now got about 20. |

I got the tribal on my arm because my brother had it.
It’s addictive and snowballed.
As much as I wouldn’t choose to get some I have, now. I regret none of them |

I was 29. I had no intention of getting a tattoo until son was born and I got a tattoo dedicated to him. It then turned into a sleeve, then 2 sleeves, then my whole chest done and now I’m wanting both legs done. |

My first tattoo was a vintage style gold locket on the inside of my wrist. The locket itself was great but the tattooist put lines behind the design like rays of light which made me see it as a Sheriff's badge everytime I looked at it. I very quickly disliked it.
It's since been covered over with a purple rose.

Held out until I was 30, and was a basic Roman numeral and initials. Was in a relationship with the manager/piercer of a studio who introduced me to two artists, one of which has since set up on their own and who I still use.
Very addictive to say the least |

My first 1 was a disaster,
After designing what I thought would be my 1st tatt I left it on the coffee table and didn't realise it until I was in the tatt studio, so I went with a tribal piece on my tummy,,
Note to other want to be fools out there, tatts on a fit tummy causes the 6 pack to lock up, so as well as the tatt being sore not being to bend for 2 days after was killer,
That was 23 years ago and I'm still adding to my ink. |
