Descriptions that are common use, that don’t sound appealing to you

Jump to: Newest in thread

What common terms are used in everyday language that you do not think actually sound appealing?

For example:

“She could suck a golf ball through a garden hose”

I imagine if that’s how powerful “she” could suck, it would be rather painful.

How about you?

Any more?

“Simples” or “Fact” at the end of a statement.

This usually means the writer is a) pretty simple, and b) knows no facts but has a lot of opinions

I mean I don’t know if it’s said often but I do say

“I could literally murder/kill for … a pizza/a dick/those shoes”

I mean, yeah on deep thinking… I kinda don’t wanna go to jail

Oh loads. "Unload" and "release" in the fab sense.

Elsewhere "reach out" annoys me. Nobody that isn't a member of the Four Tops is allowed to say Reach Out in a sentence.

People who refer to other fab members as 'the male or female'. We're mostly men and women, be we He/She or They.

Point being none of us has four legs, scales or feathers, at least not in our normal day to day clothes...

(Not met any furries through here, always willing to be surprised)

Reach Out might be my favourite song ever. I will never ever tire of hearing it and it almost never fails to raise my spirits.

Well if we are going "fab sense"...

All those cookery terms that get used..

Smashed, bashed, ruined, filled, stretched,... Things to do with ingredients but not necessarily to lady parts...

I could write a very long list.

"I don't bite unless you want me to" being near the top. Has anybody ever been so afraid that someone is going to bite them that they need reassurance?

"I'm starving" you're not, you're not even close to it, you just haven't eaten for four hours.

"I literally died". Well no, you didn't.

"Nobody wants to work nowadays" that'll be why all the shops and hospitals are shut and no public transport is running then

.

"We will do whatever it takes" when is that going to start then Rishi?

I find the use of "Just saying" after what is usually an inflammatory remark irritating.

It’s the same as saying “nailed it” meaning you did the job so well it couldn’t have been done any better

When people use "Professional" to describe themselves.
